Default Pic Request: H&R Springs w/ stock wheels

Seen a couple of photos of H&R springs but all had aftermarket wheels. Looking to see if anybody has put on H&R springs with the stock wheels. Still debating between the Velocity and H&R. Velocity feels like it might not be enough of a drop but H&R might be too much? Doubt I'll get any aftermarket wheels anytime soon, so looking to lower the ride height with the stock wheels.

I can send you a picture of the H&R springs sitting next to a stock set of 20" Gyrodyne Diamond cuts, but I'm guessing that won't do you. Car won't be here until later in the year.

If you do go with the H&Rs, you can get them from AutoAnything for $336 delivered if you wait for their occasional 20% discount (most other times they offer 15% off their usual low price of $419)

H&R, 15mm spacers rear, 10 mm front. I would recommend 10mm rear as I get slight rubbing over big dips in the road at the rear. No rubbing with 10mm rear, no rubbing on fronts with 10mm.

No joy. I am attaching the image, it uploads and says complete but doesn't display. I guess it's time to read the site instructions LOL.

By the time the car gets here, I won't need it anymore. I'll have accumulated enough parts to build one from scratch.

YES, I"M READY!! I've only had it on order for 2 months and I'm already going nuts. Hopefully this won't be as bad as the 9 month wait for my '84 Vette. That too was a manual transmission issue. They had initial production problems with what they called a "4+3 speed" transmission. So there was an added 6 months before those were available. The 4+3 was an interesting concept. It was a 4 speed manual with a 2 speed electric overdrive unit right behind it that could be shifted into high when you were in 2nd, 3rd, or 4th gear. It also served as an automatic kickdown for passing when you were in 2,3,or 4 and in OD.

That looks like Vic55's car, but if it is, he used the Velocity springs. He does seem to swap out his nice toys fairly often.

great eye:

Those are indeed VAP springs (8/10ths inch drop) and my car... I recently picked up a GT3 and sold the Jag. Ill tell you this, the Jag held its value rather strong (selling vs paid). I dont think there is another car out there besides the GT3 that would replace the Jag, but it did

In case you're looking for something else for your parts pile, I have a set of spacers that Vic55 spec-ed for the F-Type and purchased as part of a group buy here. They are on his former R Coupe pictured in this thread, also lowered on the Velocity springs. I've decided not to use the spacers, and they are still wrapped in the original box.

As a fellow Marylander, I'll give you deal you can't refuse.

The GT3 is the best rwd car Ive ever owned (991)... while the oem exhaust is not as loud as the F Type R, the LeMans 9k rpm shrieks are hard to resist on a daily, hourly and minute by minute basis. Its a rather involving car to say the least Ron. You should text me up and we can run around the hills and create mayhem and havoc. LOL.

Man Vic55,

That didn't take long but I understand, life is too short. How much quicker do you think the AWD R is going to be?

Best guess is 3 to 4 tenths of second in the real world... magazine tests are perfect. In the real world a RWD 0-60 number is higher due to bad throttle modulation. AWD in the real world is acceleration for dummies.

Whats really scary is my GT3- I can launch that thing with minimal to zero wheel spin and pull low three second launches.

I think up top the rwd will make it a better race with less powertrain drag...

My V8 Vert is in the shop right now getting lowered with H&R. Spacers too though. I'm keeping the Black Tornado wheels. New MPSS wheels since my tires were done.

Also doing stuff with badges and looking into the front grille. Watch this space <---
