Overall a nice car. Looks best IMHO from 3qtr rear. Not a big fan of the air ducts under the headlights, but hopefully they are at least functional.
Interior is pretty modern (no wood). Wood is not an option, but you do have multiple aluminum finish/color choices. The Jag site says 3 engine choices, that should be fun.
Can't wait to see the coupe that is coming next. I may have one of those in 5-6 years when the first or second owner takes it into my price range.

They are good looking cars, and, I am sure are mechanically VERY good cars, but, they simply lack that classic/timeless look of our 100 XKs.
In just a few years the next rendition of two seaters will come out and make these new ones look dated.

No way to know at this point how mechanically or electronically sound the F-Type will be. Those who jump up immediately and purchase one will serve as guinea pigs. Good solid data will require a couple of years or more. Will initial model-year problems be a) minor, b) significant, or c) somewhere in between? Given Tata's ownership history, I would put my money on c)....

I was referring to handling, performance, technology and the like, in comparison to the 100 XK series, which is, after all, a platform that was designed quite some time ago, not dependability or soundness.
No doubt a brand new platform, especially a high tech one, will have bugs and issues to work through in upcoming model years, just as the XK8/R did.

I think the car is beautiful, more reminiscent of the BMW Z8 profile than anything else. That passenger side "handle" connected to the console seems destined to get banged up, and I just don't like it. Interior is modern but not classic. I wonder what the weight will be and how quick the V8 will be as opposed to the supercharged v6. What is pricing going to be like?

I don't like Jaguar's new direction. They are barely distinguishable from the crowd now.
I think they've lost touch with their history and tradition which is a damn shame.
For a roadster, it looks pretty big. As others have mentioned, I see a lot of Maserati and Nissan in this, certainly no Jaguar.
Put a scaled down X100 body kit on a contemporary Miata with Jaguar touches (wood, bigger engine - may I suggest a V12 or I6? - gentle purr and best of all, plenty of get up and go) and you'd have a serious winner.
This just looks bloated, unoriginal and rather un-Jaguar.

Without the badges I'd not have guessed this is a Jaguar. It reminds me of a Miata with a body kit.
