Default Use plastic-dip for wheels and emblems.

Wrap panels and parts.

Plastic-Dip doesn't last more than a few months without the need to touch up unless your car is a garage queen.

Plus with vinyl, you can take it to another level by wrapping in carbon. There are so many types of carbon vinyl you can match anything you see anywhere.

I've seen black carbon on a white car and it's ridiculously good looking. Dark gray carbon for black, red, blue etc.

Avery is the best brand of wrap, the other brands including 3m are far inferior. Similar price too.

How many coats per wheel? 4 or 5?

I think 3 each. But I did put on pretty heavy coats. I used a spray paint handle thingy that allowed for really good control over the direction & amount of paint being laid down. Also, had to make really sure each layer dried completely before laying down another.

Now tell me where the jacking points are for our cars?!?!

I know there is an old thread around here trying to show the points in pictures, but I'm still having trouble visualizing the spots. Too bad it isn't idiot-proof like with BMW and designated rubber-cups

I was at a local shop 2 weeks ago for a new set of tires. They used a front jack point that's not the "official" Jaguar recommended place but they said they've used it on multiple F-Types without issue. It does also seem to a place that is reinforced so should be OK. It's a place with a metal plate/bracket that is just aft of the front wheel arch. Using a 6000lb capacity floor jack with a hockey puck as a cushion, I was able to get both wheels on one side off the ground at once. This meant I could only do one side at a time. It took a little longer this way but I wasn't in a hurry so no big deal.

Spray paint handle thingy?

What and where?

Also curious as to durability over time. Keep us posted.

I've had my plastidip on the wheels since February 1. So far there are a coupe of nicks that are tiny (unnoticeable from 4-5 feet away). I don't drive my car every day but I do drive it hard.

Nice improvement :-)
If I'm not mistaken, it wasn't a black pack, as before shot has chrome side vent things.... I think those were plastidipped as well??

My vents were already black since I have the Black Pack. I only Plasti dipped the wheels.
