Arrived at the office this morning after another smile-generating drive to work in the Jag.
I had been settled at my desk for no more than 15 minutes when my assistant came in and placed a just-delivered box with the label "Jaguar Welcome Gift" on the top. Upon opening it, along with a very nice "thank you for joining the Jaguar family" letter, this is what I found...
For any of you that are unfamiliar, Georg Jensen is one of the worlds premier makers of silverware, and the official silverware maker to the Danish Royal family. This particular piece retails for several hundred dollars. How very nice and quite unexpected!
To all current and future F-Typers (and even to those who received NOTHING...other than their F-Types. Oh yeah, some of us also don't have assistants. Scratch that. Scarlett is).
Cheers Oz.

Very cool. I got nothing, not even a letter. Well, OK, my keys came on a leaper keychain.
My former Lincoln LS came with Waterford toasting flutes, which I thought was cool but a bit silly. [My dad got a new car at the same time I did; he got an emergency roadside kit. Always joked if there was an accident, he'd stop to help while I'd drive by toasting them. ]
I got a box of Godiva chocolates from the dealer. Wife and kids ate them. Still a nice gesture. First Jag dealer sent nothing but did give me a a T-Shirt:
Would have been disappointed with no thank you gift considering both of them had made around $10k for doing an hour or so of paperwork.
The only thing my dealer gave me was a request to rate them all "10's" on the dealer survey.
+1
I paid full MSRP (less Jag promotional rebate) and was sent a letter from the dealer that I could take a free driving course (which I've found out since that everyone gets from Jag anyway). That was also after purchasing two previous cars from this dealership (owned by the Sonic Group).
It's interesting to read your various follow up comments. This gift came direct from Jaguar Australia, rather than via the dealer who gave me the other gifts I mentioned. They seem to be really focussing on increasing the profile of the brand here, which is terrific, I think. It will be interesting to see how their sales figures come in for this year. The gift is not in any way reflective of price paid, either - I received a significant discount off MSRP. Perhaps, since we're a smaller market, it might be easier for them to gauge the effect of such marketing before attempting any similar marketing strategy in a far bigger market like USA.
When I purchased my Audi A7, I received a book, with a choice of many gifts inside. I opted to pick the "Sonos" home stereo package, and was shocked by this. Ironically, I sold the A7 at 48K miles because I didn't want the warranty worries, nor an extended warranty headache (don't trust these). Wound up realizing that loyalty isn't bought by a gift of appreciation, but rather by a quality car that fits the need of the buyer. I think we call this "value" :-)!
No gift, and really don't care to have one. The gift is a quality car. Now if they would only recall and fix the audio to the level of "Jaguar expectations", that would be a real treat, which I believe we already paid for
