Polite Drivers

I know we have threads for drivers who drive like idiots around our cars, and funny bystander reactions. I keep having another type of encounter while driving - actual polite drivers.
The F-Type is the only car I have driven where I can approach an intersection well after other drivers and those other drivers insist that I go through the intersection before them. I believe said drivers have an agenda - they want a better look at the F-Type. I have people wave me through ahead of them and also flash their lights at me until I proceed.
On a related note while attempting to pull out into traffic from a stop I never have to wait very long for someone to let me in. Again I think people want to check the car out. If I am driving anything else I sit and wait much longer until someone lets me pull out.
Has anyone else experienced this?

I live in the mountains and travel on a two lane narrow State highway that much of which has no guardrails. The speed limit is 55 MPH although that is really too fast for much of the sections. I often get what we local residents call "flatlanders" in front of me. You can tell they are white knuckling the steering wheel and riding the brakes while doing maybe 30 MPH. Most of the time they will pull over in the nearest turnout and let me by. I think the Growler badge on the grill scares them.
Occasionally I'll get someone stubborn in front of me and have to wait for a section of road without a double yellow line. Then I find out just how fast my F Type can go from 40 to 90 MPH in a passing maneuver.

Maybe its an Australian thing - I find that when I am driving my SS Commodore, people don't even stop at the lights parallel with me , in case our eyes meet.
In the Jag, its the opposite. Every dubber (Golf driver) wants to drag race and every tradie in a Ford Raptor or other such wants to ram the car off the road.
Our speed limits are strict so its not like Europe where you can hit the fast lane and vanish.
When I drive my Volvo XC90 everyone wants to overtake me no matter what speed I am driving. Amusing !

I have driven in LV many times but always in a rental. And I learned early on to rent the smallest vehicle available. I've speculated that the reason driving is so "exciting" there is the number of tourists and "immigrants", with an additional measure of cab, limo, and shuttle drivers chasing fares..

I lived in Vegas back in '06-'07 when things were absolutely nuts....right before the real estate fall out.... and every Saturday or Sunday morning I would see a car flipped upside down on the beltway. One of those flipped over cars was my roommate's, she walked away without a scratch and luckily it didn't involve anyone else.

I remind attendees to our annual event—especially since most are from out of State—that Maine laws require motorists to stop for pedestrians crossing the street. Preferably at crosswalks. Naturally motorists don’t always do so—it always pays to pay attention—but it’s one more reason why it symbolizes the Maine motto: Life As It Should Be.
