Psssst....don't tell the Xk guys I'm over here!
My beloved '07 Xk vert got smacked and, though it will be fine after repair, I think it is probably time to move on. I don't want to be a trator to the X150 gang but want to broaden my vision in looking for a f-type. I haven't driven one yet but if it is even close to my Xk I know it must be totally exciting.
I'm confident you guys are as great as the X150 board has been to participate with so wanted to ask opions on what to look for. Some back ground: we live in the sticks of NE Georgia mountains and our road is unimproved (that means a lot of dust & dirt) so am thinking of a light color like silver. We're not road burners but do like the sporty twisty road work the Xk has offered up. beyond that it comes down to comfortable ride for road trips as a main interest. From there though, the canvas is fairly clean.
Any thoughts that can be offered on an F choice would help in the decision process to move over to this forum and thus greatly appreciated.

If your main concern is twisty roads and road trips I would go with the F-Type V6S with the 6-speed manual. It's a well balanced car with 50/50 weight distribution. I'm more about the over all experience then I am pure power hence why I drive the V6S with the 6-speed. Of course you could get the automatic but then it's not a real sports car ;-).
It is a great road trip car as well. I have driven mine from Texas to California and back and loved every mile of it.
But whatever choice you make, there is no wrong choice with this car. Good luck and you won't regret the move over to the X152.

I moved from a 2000 xkr convertible to 2016 ftype v6s and have zero regrets! In terms of driving joy, there is no comparison. While much sportier than the xkr, it is a bit smaller in areas - most notably the trunk. Works well as it limits the amount of luggage my wife can pack and stuff she can buy when we travel. Have driven several 3+ hr trips and it is actually quite comfortable. I highly recommend the move.

Don't worry. It's all in the family! Lighter colour will certainly help with the road debris but definitely get it Xpel'd to protect it and make cleaning easier. The vert is almost always a joy and your in an area that top down is almost always in play. The hardest choice you'll have is the V6 or the V8. Of course if you want a manual the choice is already moot only the V6.

If you live around Rising Fawn and Trenton, I know the area and the roads. I helped with the signage on I-59 back in the 70's(ancient history!), Great driving for a Jag. Expect to do a bit of washing, a lot of head jogging, and some great driving, but you're in for some great driving. Go for the F-Type. You will not be sorry.

You must drive the V8 before you make you choice. The V6S is plenty and all will agree with that. Make sure to throw the P-Zeros away and use Michelin tires - I have the PSS on boart but I believe that they have a new tire.
However! I drove my RWD V8 on Beartooth Pass in Wyoming-Montana. I was not losing any power at 11,000 feet. The supercharger was SUCKING in air and the V8 was waking everyone up and people were pulling over to let me pass! The Michelins provided excellent grip.
It was glorious. There is no replacement for displacement!

You won't be sorry:-) V6S or V8R are both awesome. I drove the V8 and was hooked. The XK series is IMO still a stunning looking car, would have been nice if Jaguar kept it. That being said, the F-Type still gives me goosebumps to look at. I personally like the lines of the coupe better than the convertible, especially in the rear, but I mean come on.....that's really nit picking :-) !!
