Power tailgate module location
Does any know where the power tailgate module is located? Its currently not working and I think my module might be dead. I’ve tried resetting it by holding the button, disconnecting my battery for 30+ seconds, fully opening/closing and trying every variation. The button unlocks and I can manually opening. If I manually close it, I can take it to a certain point and it will lower and close itself so it’s “working” to a certain degree.
I’d rather not have to take it the dealer and was thinking I could replace the module with a used one for a lot less than taking it in for them to diagnose. TIA

You could prop up your hatch somehow and then disconnect the power struts from the hatch. Then actuate them normally to see if one or both have failed. It is possible because the hatch is so large that failure of one may render the other inadequate. Then at least if neither work you can try the module swap.

Previously while installing my negative ground quick disconnect, I accidentally sparked it and fried the trunk module and the rear hatch no longer went up and down on its own.
The module cost me about $100 on eBay for a used one and now everything works as it should.

I connected the new control module and tested everything before swapping them.
