Yeah I got a replacement OEM key shipped from a locksmith (UHS Hardware) and took that in. The dealer scoffed and ummed and ah'd about how "Most of these keys don't work. This key isn't OEM because it should come from JLR with the key blade cut and yours is blank". It's an OEM key! I don't care about the blade. Just program it! Not paying you $600 to "special order" the exact same key. Absolutely hate dealers...
So... in my case at least, it was a 3 week ordeal that involved replacing the Body Control Module, the TCM, the actuator and latch, the Gateway Module, (and having to reprogram keys... lost one key so had to buy another, then the original OEM key stopped being recognised by the car with the new Gateway Module so that's being replaced under warranty, I feel like the whole "electrical issues are a thing of the past for JLR" thing is a little premature!). Car is 100% getting sold just before the warranty runs out Lessons have been learned
