Just had mine coated with Xpel Ultimate. I'll echo that the hood can be done in one piece without seams and edge wrapped. My installer also buffed out any pain defects and swirls from 1 car wash prior to putting on the Xpel. I also recommend Modesta coating on top of the Xpel. Apparently it is glossier than Opti-coat and Cquartz and lasts longer than both, though more expensive.

No voids anywhere on the entire hood. One seamless piece of Xpel ultimate, with the edges wrapped. The entire hood is covered from front leading edge back to the windshield, and from the top of the fender to the top of the other fender. From looking at my installers webpage, I don't think they used a template. Might want to ask your preferred installer in they can do a COMPLETE seamless hood.

reaching the windshield isn't the typical issue, the outside corners right behind the side-view mirrors, at the base of the A-Pillar, require another 10" of material.

I could take picture, but you can't see the film anyway.
