These are the 2015 transactions thru Manheim Auto Auctions, where Jaguar Financial and Chase sell the repos and returned leases:
2014 V6 Convertible:
05/20/15 PALM BCH Regular $58,000 403 Above BLACK 6GT A Yes
06/17/15 PALM BCH Regular $58,000 81 Above BLACK 6GT A Yes
06/17/15 PALM BCH Regular $51,500 13,483 Avg WHITE 6GT A Yes
06/24/15 ATLANTA Regular $56,600 7,267 Avg RED 6GT A Yes
07/01/15 MILWAUKE Regular $53,400 10,408 Avg RED 6GT A Yes
07/17/15 NEVADA Lease $51,250 17,274 Below RED 6GT A Yes
The " above, average and below" refers to the condition of the car. If anyone wants to see other trims, let me know.
A lot of the 2014 were press cars, so use caution when buying one. If it has not been titled in the first 500 miles, i would ask a lot of questions.

That's interesting, I hadn't considered the v8s would drop that far. I'm honestly not sure that I would go that far up the range, I've driven all three and the V6s seems to be the sweet spot. The V8 sounds amazing and the power is incredible, but my fear is that I would grow tired of how loud it is since it will be my daily driver.

So basically make sure I get it inspected thoroughly before purchase. Out of curiosity what are the numbers for the V6s? If the price difference isn't going to be that much, I may make the jump.

Even if they were press cars, they will still come with a warranty. They main concern is that they were abused during the break in period.
Always pull an autocheck and see where and when they were registered.

However, you should drive a car with the regular base sport exhaust (non-active), which is quite loud all the time when you're into the throttle. There are no valves to close so the main outlet is open all the time. Many feel the base (non-active) exhaust is louder than active with valves closed.
The active exhaust may be somewhat louder with the valves open, but most of us who own base cars are quite satisfied with how loud it is and don't find ourselves wishing we had active exhaust.

Agree on both.

So I have driven both models, both active and non, but only during brief test drives. I found the active exhaust to be intoxicating and really brought a smile to my face, however I didn't mind the non-active as well, it was perfectly fine. I'm considering renting a base F-type for a few days and seeing if I'm satisfied with it, as the active exhaust genuinely pleases me.
The contrast effect of "on" and "off" does make the active exhaust entertaining, and accentuates the difference. My perception has been that the base sport exhaust splits the difference in the middle, but leans more toward the louder end of that continuum.

However, that certainly benefits a 2nd owner, who wants the options.

Thanks, and that is very encouraging since I paid less for my car new with less than 100 miles on the clock. It also looks like my dealer was low-balling me by offering $55K in trade when I considered ordering a manual. My car is extra clean w/ 6K miles. I walked away from his "best offer" rather quickly.
It also confirms my suspicion that the lease residual number is not necessarily what you can buy a car for, unless you get very lucky.

My conclusion is to sell privately, and take the mark up myself. The see saw effect is dangerous, but on balance the net deal is all that counts. Sure we agree, but this is why I hate going to dealerships. I get plenty of sleep the night before to be my sharpest, and I have been in business for 38 years. Slick...and I hate galves/auction for anything more than baseline as was stated.

Interesting. In the UK Jaguar Finance offer a Lease with a Guaranteed Minimum Future Value. It's supposedly set such that the car will be worth more, giving a deposit for the next Lease. It's my understanding that you can buy the car at that price though (or refinance it). In the event that they got the sums badly wrong so the car is worth less, you can just walk away. I think I might still buy it if that were the case, the price being the subject of negotiation.
