Default Prevent auto downshift in dynamic mode

Is there a way to prevent the car from downshifting automatically in dynamic mode?

I find sometimes it doesn't downshift (manually) as quickly as I'd like it to ...and it feels like it's trying to optimize and potentially in some cases override my feedback on the downshift (which I don't want it to do!).

Thanks!

Push the gear selector to the left to select Sport Mode - in Dynamic and Sport, it won't shift automatically at all, except to keep the car from stalling.

Default Think you have to use the paddles

I drive mine in sport and dynamic a lot and it still shifts automatically until you use the paddles once then it goes manual for about 90 seconds (extended each time you use the paddles). I'm not sure on the 90 seconds part but think the timing is in the manual.

This post appears to explain the many personalities of the F-Type transmission...

These two modes also change how you can use the paddles.

In drive+manual: allows for manual shifts using paddles, but times out back to automatic after 60 seconds. Also will revert back to automatic if you are bouncing off the rev limiter without shifting.

In sport+manual: allows for manual shifts and does NOT revert back to automatic after 60 seconds. However, this mode will still revert back to automatic if you are bouncing off the rev limiter without shifting.

Love hearing your impressions of the F-Type. Especially considering the caliber of cars you've previously owned!!

In "S", it will hold any manually the gear you selecte, won't upshift at redline and it will only downshift if you are in too high a gear when coming to a stop (to prevent a stall as another poster said). Otherwise, it will hold the gear you select until you choose another.
