Pricing a 2014 V8s F?

I hope you are joking, but you are wrong about many of these statements.
"it's the best sports car of all time and the fastest F-Type ever made" - Best sports car ever is an opinion and you can believe that, but it's not the fastest F-Type ever made. 2016+ R and SVR are AWD and they hit 60 in mid 3s and quarter miles in mid 11s. The V8S will have a tough time breaking 12s on a good day with great tires.
"The V8 S is the fastest Jag ever because wi 555 BHP at 3650 pounds" - Again no, not the fastest and no it does not weight 3650 lbs (this is probably dry weight). There is a thread on the forum where members weighed their cars, and the V8S was around ~3950 lbs. The base V6 is around 3650 and V6S coming in around ~3850.
"All V8 F-Types are low 3 sec/low 11 sec cars." - No, only the AWD variants can realistically hit low 3s and 11s.
All that being said, V8S is the best value F-Type purchase. And you're right about them actually making closer to 550 hp and just being underrated from Jaguar. But, no need to claim or believe that it's faster than the other variants.

I just bought a 2015 V8S Convertible with 16K miles in near mint condition outside of Philadelphia. I had made an offer at a local Maserati dealer of $44K for a similar car and was turned down. I ended up getting what I wanted for $41K. Keep in mind, you'll likely need to replace tires, change fluids, etc at that age. Since I did a lot of shopping recently I would say in my area a good deal 2014 would likely be in the $38K range for that car. Since you say it's a friend I would hope he would do at least that for you considering he doesn't have to deal with trying to sell it. Good luck!

I've heard this a lot - absolutely not trying to dispute this/argue, but is there any actual evidence of the V8S doing such times? I've looked/searched through threads and have only ever found claims, and no actual proof.

But the reviewer did not understand that DSC long presses to off, so ignition was retarded. He couldn't have replaced the OEM P-Zeros which would have lit up RWD through 5th gear anyway. With DSC truly off and tires, I hope to post under 3 secs w/Dragy and below 11 when low DA season comes around, with Racechip and a SC pulley. VAP and a lower pulley will have to wait for my warranty to expire. I'm switching tires from MP4S to either Sport Cup2s or R888Rs. Currently I'm running 3.3-4 (1ft) and 11.2-4 with traction troubles off the line unless I'm in DSC track mode

Here is what appears to be a rather unbiased test of a stock RWD F type R getting an 11.8 in the quarter mile on P Zero's - and its captured on film:
Having had both P Zero's and PS4S's on my car, I'd be shocked if there wasn't an additional 1/3 to 1/2 second to be gained by swapping the tires alone. I found the car difficult to enjoy with P Zero's but a truly epic beast with the PS4S tires.
But the real magic of the RWD R is that after a quick 150 lb weight reduction and the addition of the 600 hp VAP tune, the car really begins to feel like a sports car, instead of a relatively heavy GT.

Sadly, this is the car's achilles heal. Unhinged has a good thread with numerous members having their weighed their cars and it wasn't pretty. If I recall correctly, the RWD R coupes averaged around 3850 lbs, the convertible was about an 80 lb penalty, and AWD another 180 lbs.

Can you point me to a non magazine record of someone achieving these numbers with a stock V8S? I am not sure how 3900+ lbs is lightness. Here is a forum members V8S that weighed in at 3930 lbs with a half tank of gas (https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f...-point-129743/).
AWD negates the cheap tire issue, even passenger car tires can handle 137 HP/wheel.
As far as the lightness, the V8 S is lighter if it's lighter than later model V8's.

My 2014 V8S weighed in at 3846 lbs on a certified scale; yeah, definitely not light but lighter than the AWD units and with less driveline losses. Best 0 - 60 I've seen was 3.6 seconds.....personally I doubt you'd get a half second better out of a stock V8S even with slicks, maybe a 1-2 tenths with better tires.
I prefer the RWD F types myself due to the lighter weight, lower CG and less driveline losses. Project 7 would be my "cream of the crop", of course, followed by the 2015 V8R RWD and then the 2014 V8S.
