Default Project Yellow Ledbetter

I'll post updates, but I finally said fk it and am going to have some fun with this car. Currently, it's all stock since purchasing brand new in 2021 except that I have rear spacers and the stripes.

I found a shop that specializes in European cars. They'll be installing KW HAS suspension which is on order. Once desired ride height is achieved, I'll be installing new wheels and tires. 21 x 9 F and 21 x 10 5 rear.

Pretty sure I'm going with a concave multi-spoke from BC Forged in gloss black pictured below but in silver. I want it to look stock, but with better stance. My stock wheels are 10 spoke 20s. The new ones will be 10 spoke also, but wider and better offsets. I think the multi spoke gives the right blend of class and aggression.

Anyway, just wanted to start a thread to post updates on how all of it goes. After the stance, I'll move on to a VAP tune and pulleys. Bye bye warranty. Lol

Is the rear end width on the newer body style the same as the previous R, or is it more like the SVR? Just wondering if wheel offsets need to be different on the new body style R vs old body style R.

Oh man!!! That beauty with the black hood accents was featured on Rati's Rides on Youtube (I think that's the name of his channel/show) wonder if it's the exact same car or just has the special option

It looks outstanding. Congrats

I did my tune with 2 years left on the warranty and never looked back! Just the same, be reasonable when you drive. The added HP is really nice. You might also want to consider lowering it to improve handling and posture.

With the quality mods available these days, why not create the car that will give you the most enjoyment? I put about $2500. into it and it completely transformed the experience.

Enjoy!!

Thanks! It wasn't my car, but I copied the stripes. I almost bought that same car, but the rear tires were rubbing bad and the dealership was working with spring rates. The dealership had it all custom done by a local shop. I had my stripes done by a graphics shop using that other car as an example.

HRE wheels would look pretty sweet if u have the budget. My friend has some on his 2009 Aston Martin Vantage. In his case he picked them up used in a really good deal from a dealership somehow. They really set his car off. What a difference from the stock wheels he had before.

Update: KW adjustable coils are installed and I'm working with BC Forged on the new wheels wheels (offsets, width, etc.).

The handling is noticeably tighter, flatter, and more responsive. A little twitchy, but I like it. I adjusted my dynamic mode to comfort for the suspension setting because it is too harsh now in anything else.

By the way, if you have a 2021+ with the 10 spoke wheels, the rears are 11 inches wide. I thought they were 10.5, but they are definitely 11 inches. Stamped on the backside of the wheels which are made in Italy.

Pics of the lower soon once the rain stops and I can get it out of the garage.

Super excited and fingers crossed it looks how I have it pictured in my mind. Usually my cars turn out exactly how I planned, but ya never know. This time I'm using a local Euro custom shop to assist. We spent quite some time measuring and calculating the wheel and tire specs for max concavity, flushness with fender, etc.

I'll share more soon, but front wheels will be 21 x 9.5 and rears will be 21 x 11. Tires are Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S. The only performance tire available in the sizes I need.

I'm still researching the VAP tune and which stage i want. In due time.

All of this is less expensive than selling and getting something different. This should hold my off my boredom for a while. I get bored with cars quickly. Lol

To misquote Samuel Johnson: When you're tired of the F-Type, you're tired of life!

Haha, I hear ya. Honestly, when I do start getting a little bored, that goes away as soon as i push that start button. Nothing else on the road today sounds as brutally good.

Great. What are you doing for TPMS? OEM or getting aftermarket? If so, what brand?

Am doing a winter wheel setup on my f pace which I assume uses same as f type. So wondering what has worked for others?

I usually buy VDO sensors. The OEMS work reliably every time, if I have to buy 6 to find 4 that work due to DOAs that is ok by me.

Getting OEM and having them cloned to the originals.

Wheels are in, tires and sensors mounted. Going to install on Monday at the shop and adjust the ride height for stance. Can't wait!
