Proper break-in

The owners manual for my V8V GT says engine has already been hot run in at the factory and no breakin is required. But I am still taking it easy for awhile. Seems like Jaguar has an excessively long breakin period.
I think eventually the stop start will be on everything, but kind of a shame if there is no switch to turn it off.

This mass hysteria about start/stop systems and obsessive need to disconnect them is comical. In the F-Type, your 'heart will never stop" if you:
1) Push the OFF button (I know that's tough, but you do have to press the START button too), OR,
2) Drive in sport mode or use the paddles in any mode, OR,
3) Drive in Dynamic mode either with or without the paddles (I know another exhausting button press).
All of the above independently disable Eco-mode, and if you're not using the paddles, and Sport, or Dynamic mode, why did you buy an F-Type if you're going to drive it in "Granny-mode?"

Thank you! I resemble that remark.
I have learned to enjoy the ECO as well. Close to a half century ago, if the engine stalled on any of the cars that I was driving at that time, there was a 90% probability I'd be jump starting them or pushing them home. We're in the 21st century now....get over it!

Best as I can tell, Sport and/or Dynamic does not override autostart; it has stopped on me at traffic lights and I always drive in Dynamic. I have not been using the paddles much as was going to wait until break-in for some high revs.
I live in the 21st century but I do not have to like everything about it. I do not like stop-start, I do not like people on cell phones in restaurants, etc, in fact I do not like cell phones..period. I don't tweet or instawhatever.
I bought the Jag knowing EXACTLY what I was getting, but I still do not like start-stop. However, I do LOVE the car.

I should clarify that it's great for the usually gridlocked, daily commutes I encounter to and from work in Washington, DC. In that situation, rather than sit with the engine running, I leave the car in standard ("Granny") mode and in automatic, with the engine starting and stopping flawlessly every time I hit stopped traffic or a light, which is many times every day. In 2 years, it's never stumbled, and the engine has been restarted by the time my foot travels from brake to throttle. The same is true of our Jeep and our MB.
On wide open roads, I'm always using the paddles in Dynamic mode, and I never see Eco-mode.
Try Dynamic mode again in automatic. On the 14 model, it DEFINITELY disables Eco-mode. The paddles also DEFINITELY disable it no matter what mode you're in. However, it's entirely possible that changed by 2016, and I would be interested in hearing if that is the case.

I think you guys are a bit nuts...I cannot stand Eco. Every time the engine stops my heart does as well. Maybe I have been driving/boating too many years but once I start an engine, I want to be the one to stop it.
I am in the process of trying to train myself to push Eco every time I start the car so it is OFF, but my muscle memory is not there yet. I tried to unplug in the trunk but that did not separate easily and I do not want to break the connector. I am simply not willing to change!

On a positive note, my car was delivered today. On my drive home I kept expecting the car to turn and bite me... it feels like untamed beast.
I decided to give eco boost a try and drive with it for a month. The battery when it was delivered to me was low (
) so it didn't start/stop a single time on me.
I had a loaner once that had eco start/stop and the car would shudder stop and start. My concern is that if this car does the same, it would fool me into thinking I am stalling (manual gearbox) with this feature.
--------
Had a chat with service manager. Interesting info as follows:
1. Supercharger is sealed for life, no way to change oil (is this true?)
2. Chain and guides are problematic, listen for chain slap on start. My car has updated chain guide design but unknown if this will solve the problem. Otherwise non-problematic engine.
3. Manual transmission filled with synthetic from the factory.

Another point I am confused on - the manual under InControl states that there is 'InControl Remote". Specifically:
"InControl Remote Smartphone App
The InControl Remote Smartphone App has a number of different features, that are displayed on the different screens:
... vehicle locator display...
... remote climate screen allows the engine start...
The Setting screen will allow the vehicle's security status and the trip recording feature to be switched off. It also allows access to your InControl account."
Ugh. The salesperson promised that there wasn't remote cell connectivity for this car. Anyone knows how to disable the radio in hardware?

Take a hammer to the windshield, the hatch glass and the dorsal fin on the roof. That'll pretty much disable all connectivity with the outside world. But I'll still be able to fool with your electronics with a properly energized EM pulse.I personally wear tin foil on my head to thwart anybody from hacking into my brain.(For their protection...not mine)
