Well, I'm a long way away from the UK, but my local dealer had a leftover 2015 V6S marked down $20k (on a 108k MSRP)....it sounded like a heck of a deal for a brand new F type but ultimately the 2014 V8S with 10,000 kms and every option for basically the same price was too much car to resist.

So the only cars I considered had two absolutes; the top had to come down and it had to be an auto so my wife could drive it. Other considerations were the BMW Z4 and M4 Cabriolet, another SLK MB and a Boxster S.
I have some relatives in Wales but haven't visited yet; seems when we go that way we end up in the French Riviera or Italy... but, one day.
Good luck in your search and sorry for the ramble!
Cheers,
Dave

Have you considered a Lease? I hadn't, until I realised it was the difference between driving an F Type rather than a Golf R.

so when I could buy new for about £700/£800 / month and the car would be mine at the end of the contract period - why would I lease
these figures are over budget anyway sadly

Just had a phone call from a dealer (admin staff by the sound of it) that I had called in at back in October (the salesman rang me last week)
went along the lines of
admin - "are you still in the market for a Jaguar?"
me - "yes"
admin - "was it the F-Type?"
me "yes"
admin - "are you looking for a diesel or petrol?"
Me - ".......seriously !!!!!!"

I was so lucky with mine, I was still 3 months before I was free of my previous lease and wasn't ready to buy but I saw exactly the car I wanted
12 months old, ex JLR Australia company car for a reasonable price so o went and bought it on the spot. Cost me three months of double lease payments but it was worth it.

Strange. It may have been due to there being so little time left on your original lease, but if the salesman is competent he should be looking to get you into a new lease with about 12 months to go.
He gets incentivised to sign you up, and the finance company are happy to take your money for another few years.
