I don't think the V6s ever had side skirts in any model year, and the valence has remained black in all model years. I vastly prefer that look as well.

Side skirts were offered as a part of the "Design Pack" on the V6.

Yes, I was referring to the standard config. It's too bad V8 owners don't have the option of leaving them off, as part of a "better design pack." :-)

I don't think there were very many V6 owners who ordered that option even though the 14-15 skirts in black and skinnier were a lot more attractive.

The UK registration system helps you work out its age - the number 65 indicates between September 2015 and April 2016

similarly - the number 15 indicates April to September 2015
ditto 14 and 64 for 2014
... 13 and 63 etc etc

I have to say I am fairly hooked ...

on the drive home the number of looks the car had was huge - I get it a lot with the zed but not on this scale

I was expecting rear visibility to be a real nightmare, however I don't find it any worse than the Nissan so can quite comfortably live with that

acceleration - the zed (book figures) 0-60 in 5.2 .. the Jag is 4.8, so nothing noticeably quicker but damn it certainly feels quicker

when all the gizmos are switched on, the throttle response is also a lot sharper than the zed

internally everything appears to be controlled by the touch screen, radio etc - this appears to be a bit of a faff ..... but it could be me just not knowing what I'm doing (i couldn't work out how to turn the radio off (in the end just turned the volume down)

so, off for another little play now before having to hand it back

There's an old school volume knob on the console in front of the gear shift lever. Just press it.

Doh! I've seen so many pictures of the side skirts and body-colored valence, I had assumed they were on all cars. Glad to hear that's not the case.

I think the consensus is that the Jag 0-60 times are quite conservative.

Yes, that is a total no-brainer. It's the same as paying cash since they're offering you free money for 2 years. In fact it's better than paying cash because of the time value of money. X amount of cash today is worth more today than it will be 2 years from now. Thus, you'd actually be making money.

0% interest financing has become fairly common in the US on 3 year loans available to folks with very good credit.

so apart from the 50% value of the car initial payment down, I then have a further 2 years to save my pennies (cents/dimes) for another 2 years (in an high interest account) ready for the final payment.

The only downside to this is my budget was £55k ($80,000) - but I will actually be spending £70,000 ($100,000)

can I afford it, well, yes I can and I get to choose all the options I want as opposed to having to settle for something not quite right

I'm talking myself into this as I type aren't I

I don't know how your proposed loan would be structured, but the standard manufacturer offered 0% interest loan in the US is fully-amortized, such that it's fully paid off at the end of a 3-4 year term. It sounds as if the finance product they are offering you is 0%, but not fully-amortized with a balloon payment at the end.

Regardless, they are still offering you "free money" for 2 years, and thus it's better than paying the full cash price at delivery.

The finance part is a no-brainer, the only question is whether the purchase price is too high. What kind of discount off MSRP have they offered?

waiting for them to come back to me with an offer

They've called the finance package "Advance Payment Plan"
pay 50% on collection
then after 2 years pay the remainder with no interest or hand it back or use whatever collateral is in it to change it for another

LOL, better design pack... (at a premium of course). Yep, they are not a good addition to the car IMHO - too fat looking

Yes, to me it's almost like putting a maternity dress on a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model. That tapered lower curve which ends in the rear fender flare is camouflaged by the body colored skirts. It's one of the most beautiful lines of the body design.

+1. If I had purchased the R ('15 or '16), I would have removed the skirts.

Well then you will love it =).. I went in for white, but the dealership had this one in stock with more options and was willing to take $12,000 of MSRP so had to suck it up and pull the trigger. The red is wearing on me though. Good Luck! I know you will enjoy it...
