Default Proximity alert

Coming up on second year of ownership of my 2017 R coupe which so far has been hassle free, but recently the front left outboard proximity sensor gives false readings as if there is something there when there isn’t after the parking proximity button is activated. On a test target it works normally as does the rest of the system but this channel still gives false alerts when activated. I’m presuming a failing sensor or poor contact, the car is to go on next month for its annual service so I’ll have it looked at then. Anyone else experience anything like this? Thanks

I found out mine was picking up my mail box as I pulled out the drive way.

Did the message centre say "You have mail"?

Mine did that, it would go berserker when I was trying to reverse into my space and the sound was deafening, picking up warnings from the front when nothing was there. Got fixed in a service.

Whenever I put the car in Reverse (backing out of my garage, out of a parking spot etc) I hit the P button and turn off the sensors otherwise they go beresk at anything within cooee in any direction. Well maybe not "within cooee" but within about 18", totally OTT beeping and flashing when I am nowhere near hitting anything, drives me nuts.

Once again, I had to look that one up...

Cooee! (/ˈkuːiː/) is a shout used in Australia, usually in the bush, to attract attention, find missing people, or indicate one's own location. When done correctly—loudly and shrilly—a call of "cooee" can carry over a considerable distance.

It's used in the UK, too, though not to find people lost in the outback - our voices won't carry that far!
