Too bad this had to happen, however as was stated, there is always a way to work around this. Checking other dealers who are hungry to move a unit etc., and may give you a great(er) deal, vs. ordering. You may have to give up an option of two like I did, but it is still a happy result.

Good Luck, and sorry this had to happen....bummer and don't give up. You could work around this some way....just drive, drive, drive to the result you are after (no pun intended)!

I'm going to contact some other dealerships to see if they have any 2016s allocated that can still be modified. If I find out that my local dealer tried to sell me a line, you can guess whether or not I'll be purchasing from them in the end.

Now they're telling me that the 2017 will definitely be a more favorable lease compared to an end-of-life 2016 because the residual on the 2017 will be much higher. I can imagine it will be a little higher, but I don't think the difference will be so great as to make the 2017 cheaper to lease (especially once you factor in the cap cost discounts that may come with a 2016). I'm also assuming they would incentivize the interest rates on the 2016 leases after 2017s are announced.

Their technically correct, the residual value of a 2017 will be higher than a 2016 leased at the same time next spring. Because the 16 will be already a year old. But your right, the discounts on the 2016 could still make it a better value.

I had similar issues in New Jersey - local dealers were done with their allotment- I found a dealer in New York - had 2016's available - so I ordered middle of December 2015 - will be here April 2016

Good luck

Well, my 2017 F-Type S Coupe order has gone in, confirming that they are in fact accepting orders (at least in the US).

Build date is 2/19 with a delivery date of 4/8.

Congratulations! Now the wait begins. Do you know how to track the ship? It won't go any faster, but it gives you something to do while you wait.

They will probably beat the delivery date. I picked up my 11/2 build on 12/9, and it was at the dealer for a couple of days before I could get there. And, it just missed a ship, and had to wait for the next one.

No I do not. Probably need a VIN number which I don't have - assume I can get that after the build date passes?

Yes, you will need the VIN. I think the VIN might even be available before the build date. Then, you can look for your car with the VIN, and the W&W shipping site. And sometimes, their site will say "returned to shipper", but don't worry. Jaguar is usually the last loader, so they send everything they have, and if there is no room, the car will go on the next shipment. Usually 7 to 10 days. Enjoy.
