Once they were aligned (after a considerable amount of time fiddling around) the jack worked perfectly and the tire rotation actually took less time than setting up the jacks. Overall I am still pleased with the purchase but will avoid using the pinch weld blocks in the future if I can.

Bled them just like demonstrated in the set up video. Actually did it twice each side to make sure all the air was out. When tested they went up smoothly just like they were supposed to after being bled. Just to be sure I'm going to bleed them again.

Hey Guys,
So I have been on the fence for awhile now getting a QuickJack 5000, this seems to be the most recent thread on the subject from searches, and.. this is a OLD one..
now that you guys have had it a while, still a good setup for the F Type? I have seen a few folks say the BL-5000SLX is a tad short of hitting the desired spots on the F Type, but I think from reading on others the BL-5000EXT which has a long rail will hit the sweets spots...
Please let me know folks having one if this is a sound decision to get.

So far I used it to flush the brakes, change the differential oil and install a VAP crank pulley.
I have also used it to change transmission and engine oil, rotate tires and do brake jobs on an FJ cruiser, a RAV 4 and a Juke.

Costco has a pretty good sale going on right now on the BL-7000SLX set for those of you that might need to pick up something heavier like a truck also and it only sits 1/2" higher at 3 1/2" tall. Plus you can also buy their extension kit if you need an extra long lift reach. These things are great for detailing work for us old guys that don't like to crawl around on the ground.

I was going with the BL-500EXT based on measurements according to their website. It's just my F Type and the wife's F Pace (just under 5K) so didn't see the need for the 7K. However, now QJ is coming out with taller models that raise 3" more with the same folded height, so as soon as they're available, I'll be getting the 5000TLX.

I have the BL-5000SLX model and find it to be fine for working on my F-Type and other vehicles for the last two years. I don't feel it is too short at all.

Then JacksonvilleJag threw a wrench at my plans.... I had not heard about the one with more lift...man.. what to do..LOL
Thank you for the replies guys,
Def getting one now, just need to see which one and what is the best deal I can find.

I just got the BL-7000SLX model from Costco in Canada. It was cheaper than the 5000 model at any other dealer.
It lifts the XK8 like a feather. I didn't buy the pinch block pads, I just took the pads that come with it over to the table saw.
I watched a youtube video on a guy who split his pads and ordered the right ones from Quick Jack. I bought the extender kit for my Ford Explorer and it lifts that like a feather too. For both the Jag and Explorer I built a creeper and I can skate around under both vehicles with ease. I have been wanting this toy/tool for sometime and I am glad I pulled the trigger.
Happy wrenching everyone!

Go to the quickjack website and click on learn more on the lift you are interested in.
Scroll down and it shows the collapsed height
The collapsed height on my 7000 is 3.5 inches
Lost of room as I can fit in the pads with almost an inch to spare
I would imagine one could cut down the pads if needed but doubt that will be the case unless you have lowered your car

The TL is now available and I just placed my order. If you didn't get the email, you can follow the below link. There's no other way to access the TL models on their website.

For those of you interested in the TL Quickjacks, Costco now has them on sale ($300.00 off) for both the 5000 Lb $1299.99 and 7000 Lb $1499.99 shipping and handling included. The nice thing about Costco is if you don't like them or they don't work for you , you can just return them pretty easily. I already have an older model Quickjack or I'd be getting the new 7000 Lb TL model.

I purchased the 5000SLX this past week and had measured prior to doing so to make sure it would work on my F-Type 2018 V8 AWD. With this model it does take some triple checking to make sure you have just enough of the lifting blocks on the right spots and I actually was able to squeeze the big block and the medium block together for the maximum lift. I hindsight I will have went or the EXT version of either model as it will have made it easier to hit the sweet spots exactly. Works very well and like the fact that it mechanically locks in place. That said I still put four Jack stands in the corner as the last thing I want is this beast to come down on me. I looked at scissor jacks that can lift up to 48 inches but in reality either your creeper will be too low to reach or you will have a sore back from bending while working on the vehicle.

Hey all,
After the heart attack I found the quickjack difficult to slide into position. They are awkward regardless of my condition. Here are a couple of youtube videos on some solutions. I haven't done this yet as Kitty is up on the jack for the winter but I will be making the modifications come spring.
Hope this helps y'all.

Just noticed this thread. I went to the 5000TL link that you provided, thank you.
Specs state that this unit has "an additional 3" lift" That's awesome but nowhere could I find the Standard Height Lift.
From the photos I "guess" the measurement to be 24" LIFT? 27" LIFT w/ 3" spacers??
Probably from many years of Heliox Saturation.
