Quirky door lock question?
Hey everyone, so I’ve noticed some times when I exit the car, close the door, push in the handle to lock the door….the handle goes in all the way, but then comes back out and the car doesn’t lock…if I repeat the process it then locks as normal (morris fold in). The door is always fully shut and the key is in my pocket. Is this normal/happen to others? Thinking I’m just moving too fast for the system ☺️?

I am glad you posted this, I have had this issue since purchasing mine back in 2020. Probably 3/4 of the time if I push the handle in it will go in, honk twice, and then pop back out. It is kind of embarrassing, to be honest, so I almost always press the button on the fob to lock it nowadays (like I'm some kind of mid 90s owning degenerate!). I have always wondered if anyone else had this issue and if they were ever able to resolve it.

My car does this to me a lot as well. Furthermore, when I try to lock it via the fob, it won't lock. I have walked around the car pointing the fob at different parts of the car hoping for a connection. I'm wondering if the car is for some reason unable to recognize the key fob (yes, new battery in fob). Is there an antenna/sensor somewhere that should pick up that signal?

If you have the app, when you get the double honk open up the app and see if it says anything is still open (windows, hood etc)
Usually the issue is keyfob batteries. I've found some whole batches that I buy don't work well, and other ones are fine. Also the contacts where the batteries connect inside the keyfob can come loose so try bending them so the fob battery is a tighter fit
