Car going in tomorrow for further "investigations".

Edit: car is checked for leaks and the diff and pinion seal is 100% sealed and thight. What I thought was still a leak, was most probabely some "leftover oilspill" from the previous leak, that had ended up at places which he (the mechanic) was not able to reach. Some active driving in curvy mountain roads in very warm temperatures made the "leftover oil spill" move from were it was collected.
I would keep an eye on that. Park over some clean cardboard.

Thanks for the advice Nati, and I will. However I did drive some 320 rather "enthusiastic" miles after the seal was changed over a 3 day periode up Mountains and through curvy fjords. I did deliberatly park on "easy to spot oil leak" surfaces during the whole trip and it was only during the two first days that I did find some oil drip. For the last part of the trip, and over night after I came home, there was no oil drip to be found. The mechanic also checked the oil level, and the diff was 100% full.

All signs indicates the leak has stopped and was caused by the pinion seal - but I certainly will keep an eye on it.

I'm sure it's still a low prevalence problem but I park over a clean cardboard box and started noticing oil spots. That's how I caught it.

Mines leaked, but it was coming from the mount that holds the small actuator motor to the diff. Not a hard job to reseal at all. Just lower the exhaust and lower the rear brace and everything was easily accessible.

Hi,
is there anything to consider when disassembling the servomotor? Can you get it back together, or is there a specific installation method on this motor? My rear differential is also slightly damp, and would like to reseal this. I'm just a little concerned about the servomotor in case I have to disassemble that as well.

Thank you so much for all answers
Andi

No nothing special to look for. It's pretty straightforward.

So you can rebuild the actuator Motor in any position? Even if the differential was rotated after removing the actuator Motor? At the moment it is not yet clear where the oil is coming from. Looks more like the case or the transition from the aculator motor to the case.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. All I did was unbolt the motor from the diff. Remove the motor housing, reseal it and bolted the motor back up.

Hi,
What is the case sealed with? Standard sealant or are there original seals for sale?

Thank you
BR
Andi
