Rear Spoiler / 770 sound

I took my F type R to the dealer today for annual oil and asked the master mechanic about reprogramming the rear spoiler. He said it was not possible with the information he had, however, he did promise to workout a switch that would stop it from deploying. Could be a problem with the instrument cluster showing a warning so he wanted to work with the idea for a few weeks. For me, I don't want to cruise on the highway for hours at 70+ MPH with the spoiler up.
As well, when I was leaving he came over to the car and told me that Jaguar had an update for the 2015 770 W system that he had not installed on any F types yet... it needed up to 2 hours and I was in a hurry so will go back in a few weeks. The update seems to consist of some sort of software upgrade although he could not tell exactly what it does from the information he was given.
Anyway, I'll report back in due course.
Lawrence.

Based on what my audio installer told me, a software update will not be the fix everyone is looking for. His analysis of the stock system's poor sound quality was due to cheaply designed/built speakers and a lack of proper enclosures for the speakers.
His remedy included not only replacing speakers, but building proper enclosures (as well as new amps/crossovers/added 10" sub with an additional amp).

Yes, it won't address speakers. Many of us are finding the 'Meridian' setting does not seem to supply a robust surround sound experience as compared to the DTS.. anyway, I should be back in around 2-3 weeks and will let everyone know the result... hopefully I will actually notice a result.
I'm pretty satisfied with the sound to date as I don't seem to have buzzing speakers, however, I expect the software upgrade should improve some aspect of the sound, just don't know what that will be.

The mechanic at my dealer downloaded the stereo upgrade (took about 2 hours) and I can say with certainty that the sound is better balanced now. I have the 770 watt and after the upgrade the DTS setting sounded a bit better than before.
Meridian setting is not something I normally use as the rear speakers seem to be silent and after the upgrade this has not really changed, although I only had a half hour to play around with it and will be away for awhile so it will be a couple of weeks before I get to try it again. I focused on a classical radio station and two cuts off a rock cd and the sense of surround seemed better.. possibly the center channel is toned down a bit. I doubt this would affect the those with noisy speaker enclosures.
Overall, I would recommend doing it as I noticed it pretty much right away.
Only had a chance to chat for a minute with the master mechanic regarding switching for the spoiler and he said he reviewed the wiring diagrams and its a no go. Apparently the spoiler is linked with the dampers and so forth; as switching it off will show up as a fault to the overall system that it is part of and flipping the switch will not bring it back on.. it will show as a fault on the dashboard and the dealer would have to reboot it.. anyway, thats his opinion ofter looking over the diagram.
This guy is normally not concerned with doing after market changes so I do believe he gave it his best shot.

Strange to me was the fact that Jaguar sent out the update without any information for the dealer; so he couldn't really tell me much and was to rely on me to report back.
Mine is a 2015 and I have no idea if this upgrade would enhance a 2016, however I suspect the dealers should know.
