The rear bumper, take off the black cap, reveals this screw. Is this for the rear tow hook? The included tow hook fits the front location and is documented in the manual. But the manual doesn't mention the rear location and the included tow hook does not fit this. Is it something else? Or if it is the rear tow hook, anybody know the specs to order an aftermarket one?

At the very top of your picture you can see the bottom half of a hole. The tow hook should screw into that hole. Are you saying it does not?

The included tow hook does not fit, too big. Fits in the front though. Also kind of odd that the hole is angled. Think it wouldn't be good to be angled but maybe not.

My car was delivered with a 2nd hook loose in the trunk, which I took out. Never checked to see if it would fit the rear, but that's my guess. Perhaps they used it as a tie-down on the ship?

Interesting, let me check again to see if there's a 2nd tow hook somewhere. Any chance u got it a pic? It's not the super big/long one that's next to the small battery, right?

Different setup in the vert, I think. The main hook is under a hatch on the left side of the trunk. I couldn't see anywhere to put the 2nd hook, and the manual doesn't mention it. I'll see if I can find it and post a picture.

There is a second hook and yes that is where it goes. I tried them out a while back. My rear hook came in the trunk loose as another poster has stated. It is much shorter than the front tow hook.

Thanks. Checked the trunk, no loose tow hook. Guess the dealer removed it.

some closure...went to the dealer, checked another car, no rear tow hook. Guy said he's never seen one. So maybe some dealers toss them, others keep them. Who knows. But I did have the parts lady look it up and indeed there is a rear tow eye. So ended up ordering one.

An old thread....thought there was a more recent one but this came up on the search.

Asked my sales guy and the parts dept have come up with part one can order for a startling $53.99 (Can)

Apparently not something included other than special order.

So, as you slide off the road/track always rotate the car so the tow guy can use the front hook....or invest the $$

It was mentioned recently in another thread that Jaguar says the rear hook is NOT to be used for vehicle recovery or towing. Some of us didn't receive one; I did, but I don't keep it in the car.

I got 2 tow eyes with my 2016 coupe. One is 5.25 in (13.3 cm), the other is 8.75 in (22.2 cm).

So can anyone confirm that (a) the larger one is for the front, and (b) the smaller one is only used as a tie-down during transport and can be discarded?

That is confirmed. The larger front hook is stored in a styrofoam holder next to the battery.

I have a front plate mount that goes in the front tow hook (which I only use for annual inspections.) Took me quite a while to figure out that the front tow hook is reverse threaded. Doh!

Anyone know how to remove the rear tow cover and if they are the same between both V6 and V8 diffusers?

I tried to reach my hand back there, but it seems quite stuck and not sure I want to break anything should I be pushing incorrectly.

My MY18 manual says "Only tow the vehicle in a forward direction with all four wheels on the ground. Towing in a reverse direction or with only two wheels on the ground will cause serious damage to the transmission."

Maybe this applies only to later AWD models?

Hmmm. Does anyone flat-tow their F behind a motor home??? That would certainly eliminate the issue of limited trunk (boot) space.
