Does anyone know why some red brake calipers have “JAGUAR” stamped on them with white letters and some do not have anything? Looking for a used F-Type and have seen both. Thanks!
I believe the red calipers all have the "Jaguar" lettering but by now many of the older ones have faded so much it's hard to see, especially in ads on the internet.
My 2014 S was only 18 months old when I bought it and the lettering was there alright but only visible close up, so I bought new decals and stuck them straight over the top.
Here's a pic of one before I stuck the new decals on:

Where'd you find replacement decals? Mine are fading as well and need a refresh.

See this post and the link to decals in it (last link): https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...8/#post1934583
They are the exact same ones I used, and don't forget to specify which colour you want when you order them.
The larger decals which go on the front anti-rattle clips are about 1 cm longer than the factory lettering so they will hang a little over the flat surface of the clip on each end, but it's barely noticeable.
Here's a pic of one of mine after a put the new decal on:
Bruce,
I bought those rotors (both front and rear) about four years ago for the old XFR.
I no longer have the details of the exact kit I bought but these look identical to me and they seems to be good value for money: https://www.ebay.com/itm/F-R-BRAKENETIC-SPORT-Drill-Slot-Brake-Disc-Rotors-POSI-QUIET-Pads-BSK76359/131432010352?epid=1354670611&hash=item1e99f55270%3 Ag%3AVc0AAOSwv~1aPJoU&_pgn=2&_sacat=6000&_nkw=Jagu ar+XFR+brake+rotors&_from=R40&rt=nc
The pads that come with that kit are the exact same pads that came with the kit I got - PosiQuiet semi-metallic - which are no better (but no worse) than the OEM pads - still dusty and "graunchy". You are better off just getting the rotors and sourcing pads from elsewhere, I have the Porterfield R4S and I'm very happy with them.
Also, XFR rear pads are not the same as F-Type "super performance" 376 mm rear pads due to the integrated electronic hand brake on each F-Type rear caliper.
Point is, the XFR front (380 mm) and rear (376 mm) brake rotors are absolutely identical to the F-Type "super performance" brake rotors and they are often a helluva lot cheaper than the so-called F-Type ones.
However I just found this listing for the same rotors sans pads, so that would be better for you: https://www.ebay.com/itm/FRONT-REAR-BRAKENETIC-SPORT-Drilled-Slotted-Brake-Disc-Rotors-BSR75083/141634812295?epid=1740764143&hash=item20fa17b987
Last but not least, lots of our 'murican friends on the XF sub-forum have fitted R1 Concepts slotted and/or drilled rotors to their XF SCs and XFRs and they are happy with them, so you could go that way instead, although I suspect they are identical to the Brakenetic ones linked above but will cost a fair bit more than them and probably a lot more postage to boot. As for postage cost I don't know of any Oz based supplier of after-market brake rotors for the F-Type so it's import or nuffin.
Edit - Bruce, I assumed you had the "super performance" brakes but looking at some of the pics of your car it looks to me that you have the "high performance" brakes instead (same as I originally had), so 380 mm front and 326 mm rear.
Which means the rotor kits I linked to are no good for you unless you do what I did and upgrade the rear brakes to 376 mm. A fairly easy job but not cheap.
However you should still be able to find sets of slotted and drilled rotors for your brakes but they will be "F-Type only" as that is the only Jag I know of which ever came with 380 mm front and 326 mm rear brakes.
Cheers, potentially I could do front only, you can barely see the rotors on the rear through the dish in the wheels and to be honest, I'm only doing it for **** value...

Yep, I did the same Bruce, put just the front slotted and drilled rotors on to start with.
Mainly because I was hoping my F-Type had the "super performance" brakes with the 376 mm rear brakes but I was very disappointed when I got it home and discovered it only had the 326 mm rear brakes. That meant the 376 mm rotors off the XFR could not be used so I went with the fronts only.
But, and I reckon you will feel the same after a few weeks, the mismatch between the front and rear brakes (looks only, no performance problems) just got more and more annoying and that's when I started looking into upgrading the rear brakes to the "proper" 376 mm ones, especially as I already had the rotors.
By all means go with just the fronts, here's a link to a pair of them: https://www.ebay.com/itm/FRONT-SET-B...item214197b031
