I have tired to search and cant find anything regarding a red supercharger, could this be custom painted or was there random OEM red painted ones? im getting ready to pull the trigger tomorrow on this 2017 F type R, it has 7k miles, one owner, at 3rd party dealer. Just thinking its weird how its red and since im buying out of state site unseen (however I did have a 3rd party inspection). Im always nervous about small little things like this, thanks.
Never read, seen or heard of a red painted SC coolant jacket on any Jag before let alone an F-Type so I guess it is a custom job. Definitely not a factory option.
The only custom one I know of is Unhinged's polished SC. If someone went to the troyble of painting the cover should come off (recommended anyway to reduce heat buildup). Would be interesting to know how it was done and what it looks like exposed.

I’d be worried about additional heat buildup as well with a painted surface.
this is the car, so the CCB pads on front have been changed and the rear look like they might be on the way out (I had a 3rd party Inspection with better pics). Tires also have been changed only with only 7k miles on car. This car seems to have been tracked more then a few times. The red supercharger cover just throws me off lol.

Funny you say so, because polishing a surface will not only decrease material roughness, but as a side effect decrease the way the object will be able to transfer heat (because of a decreased surface area on micro level).
In your case, by leaving the engine cover off, you most likely still end up with a win situation after all, but applied in a larger context - e.g. polishing the fins of an air cooled engine -, one could get in trouble...
There's quite some research done over decades when it comes to surface roughness (both internal and external), and the way it can affect (engine) cooling in various applications.
