Default Remotes barely work at 2.8 volts

I have to reposition my remote now to start the car or open the door. So I checked the batteries in both remotes, one which I never use. Both were just over 2.8 volts for a 3 volt CR2032 battery. I had to unstitch my leather case to check one. Replaced with new battery and now works perfectly. Both remotes lost power even the one that I never use.

They still emit signals even if you aren't using them so they will run down.
