I have an f-type 2.0L euro 6b and looking from underneath I have two barrels on the downpipe.
In particular, after the turbine, I have:
lambda sensor,
first barrel,
lambda sensor,
second barrel and then no other sensor after.
I was wondering, since I don't have any lamda sensor afterwards, can I eliminate the second barrel and put a straight tube? Has anyone done it?
i think is a second catalytic converter but i don’t know if i wrong.
to be clear, I would like to delete this one marked with an circle.
My guess is the second (circled) thingy is the OPF (Otto Particulate Filter) AKA GPF (Gasoline Particulate Filter).
Either that or the first thingy is the OPF and the circled thingy is the catalytic converter.
Either way removing it is likely illegal in your neck of the woods and if/when the car is tested for emissions or roadworthy or whatever equivalent you may have in Italy you will just be ordered to put it back on again under threat of a massive fine if "caught" again.
Considering that mine is a euro 6b, registered in June 2018, it shouldn't have the OPF.
I understand that Jaguar installed the OPF on Euro 6D cars registered from 2019 onwards. The reason why I would like to remove it and replace it with a straight pipe or a 200 cell sports catalyst is to have a little more sound and lower temperatures.
When we put the car on the bridge, that circled barrel was a fiery red ball.
but i don’t know if i’ll have issue with this mod..
I don't worry so much about the controls, the first big barrel would remain.
The thing that makes me strange is that the two lambda sensor are before and after the first large barrel..
I know in the US, the 2.0L had resonators built into the downpipes to tune the sound of the exhaust. Those look a little big to be resonators but they could be.
I don't think it's a resonator. I had the resonator on the central tube and I replaced it with a straight tube. the resonator in the center is empty while I believe this one is full inside.

Here are you located manoninja?
I've done it in my f-type p300.
I got the ragazzon downpipe with sporty cat. I moved the second lambda probe a little further away and I don't have any errors in the ecu. the car runs fine
