Approved! For many years my friends thought I was nuts for driving loud cars, but it is really ODD that car makers all seem to be going the direction of LOUD in their factory offerings.
Ten years ago there was a guy on the net - TorkMonster - with a 300Hemi with cutouts and he'd say someday his added feature would be seen in new cars because it was so much fun. He was right.

I wqs waiting for a comment like that lol it obviously sounds much nicer in person and listening through ear buds does help. The Normal active exhaust does have a deeper tone that I would prefer. Maybe a change up on the actual muffler will help mellow out the higher pitched rasp. So far i do like it and is miuch more fun than the stock non active system

Thanks for sharing.
For me this is like taking a Savile Row suit and cutting the trousers to make shorts because they are more noticeable that way and you can run faster.
But I'm glad folks are doing interesting things to the F-Type because there's room in the community for owners of all stripes. The head designer for Jaguar is a fan of modding cars and has heavily modified his own cars too.

This isnt some bespoke sports car or hypercar... Hell, people hack new Ferraris and Lamborghinis these days off the showroom floor. Anyone thats bothered by what I did is missing the point. Its all about fun and excitement, and if its done in a safe and tasteful manner than im always for it. I drove my co workers f type S yesterday with the active exhaust...guess what its actually louder than my car lol

Unfortunately jag wont sell u a base coupe with an active exhaust. I couldnt care less for the premium package that you need to get the exhaust option. I came from corvettes and just couldnt stand not hearing the exhaust.

BTW I'm not bothered by the deletion at all. It's not for me, but nor are NASCAR, wine coolers, hacked up Ferraris, Californian wines, or any number of things. It's nothing personal and I went out of my way to point out that the guy who designed the F-Type likes modding his cars. I'm glad you did it and it was cool of you to share the results with the forum.

Just some quick advice. I have an XKR and it was too quiet so I did the rear muffler delete and it got a lot better, then I started taking everything out and it got ugly (though I had to admit with straight pipes through an x-pipe it'd wake the dead) I ended up putting in an expensive custom stainless steel replacement system (after swapping in and out a lot of components including an electric exhaust valve that leaked) and I do like the sound but had I started with that I would have saved $3K and if I'd left well enough alone after the muffler delete I would have saved about $4.5K+. My lesson was, if you like it, leave it alone. Taking off more won't make it sound better, unless you really do want to wake the dead. Shame on the active exhaust that's one of the options I couldn't live without. Even got it on the new Mercedes I just bought. (Oh, and I do like the way yours sounds now, not that it really matters).

I did this almost 1.5 years ago.

My thoughts were that the exhaust was definitely louder with the pops much more pronounced but a bit more raspier. I've since traded in the 2015 and got into a 2016 with the active exhaust.
