Replacement Rotor Suggestions?
#2
Anyway there are plenty of after-market non-OEM rotors for sale on Fleabay and elsewhere.
Well there used to be only a few months ago, a quick search just now comes up with almost nothing!!!
Common and well known brands are R1 Concepts, Stop Tech and Centric. The first two for plain, slotted, cross drilled or both slotted and cross drilled, and Centric for plain OEM equivalent.
Here's one listing for Stop Tech front 380 mm rotors cross drilled and slotted: https://www.ebay.com/itm/22361641064...Bk9SR-LB0JuzYQ
Be aware that the XFR, XJR, XKR and F-Type R all have the exact same 380 mm front and 376 mm rear rotors so don't restrict your search to just F-Type.
Same with the base F-Type 355 mm front rotors and 326 mm rear rotors, same rotors across the Jag range.
The front brake pads are identical across the range as well, both 380 mm and 355 mm, but it is different with the rear brake pads due to the F-Type (and XK???) having a different EPB set-up with a separate leccy motor on each caliper vs a central motor driving two cables on the XF and XJ, so be careful when buying a full kit of rotors and pads.

definitely this! there was a thread not too long ago I read about someone saying dealer wanted over $50k to replace their CCB which made absolutely no sense to me. i would have guessed it would be around $12k which is the cost of the CCB option from the factory when new but not $50k...which u can buy a second f-type for.

WOW! Thanks for the suggestions from all. I hesitate to use Ebay with quality concerns. I'd rather pay a couple extra $$ and make sure i'm not doing the job twice. I wouldn't mind saving a few pounds of unsprung weight. So if VAP has something soon, i'm game. But I want to get this job done before spring. Stuart, what's your ETA?

I like the Wortec rotors, and I’ve tried to look into purchasing them. They seem to save a significant amount of weight, and look pretty cool besides. Their website doesn’t allow for purchase, there is no email address and I’m unable to find them in the US. Makes me worried about any potential customer service issues in the future.
Hope VAP’s offering will be similar to the Wortec design.

I purchased probably one of the last sets of Wortec Rotors from them. They don't make rotors for F-Types any more because they can't make any money off of them. I can tell you that their customer service is top notch and their products top quality but they don't sell enough of them to make it worth their while and it costs them too much money to warehouse a stock pile of parts that don't sell. I had a number of long emails with them about it when I was trying to set up a group buy but we only had about 3 people interested!
So, I hope VAP can come up with a good set of rotors at a decent price.

We are starting with the 380 & 376mm, and will be looking at the others from there. 2-Piece Steel/Aluminum from a very well respected supplier in partnership with us. Although final manufacturing analysis is not done, we believe this can be done IRO $2200/set.

We are looking at lots of options. We can't pursue them all a the same time but it's on the radar. We were hoping it would be possible to design a bracket to fit the FType rotors to the XE but unfortunately not.
