Default Replacing side vents

Hi all!

I am Peter, from The Netherlands, and since a few months I am the proud owner of a F-Type 3.0 V6 in the color Italian Racing Red. I always try to make my cars "as new" and for this, sometimes I have to replace some parts.

In this case the side vents are for some reason somewhat malformed, so I am looking to replace them. The car also had a "chrome delete" I believe, so probably better to replace the side vents wrapped in black with original black vents.

I think this is something I can do myselves, but I was a little bit shocked about the price I have to pay for one side vent. Here in Europe, they go for at 125,- euros each (~150$). Which I think is a lot for a piece of plastic.

Are there cheaper options, like getting these from the US or UK?

Thanks!

Yes...That is the price...Best bet is to try and find a used set on eBay or similar. Otherwise, you just have to pay the price.

Thanks! I 'll watch Ebay, and if that takes too long, probably just go for it.

Ptie,

You might want to consider an alternative at Rimmer Bros in the UK. They have carbon fiber vents for 107 euros and they are on your side of the pond. However, Brixit might be an issue when it comes to a tariff and postage as that is a mess.

Thanks George for the tip!

The previous owner did a chrome delete and reproduced the "black pack" by wrapping the chrome parts in black. They could have a done a better job I think, but I like the idea of the black vents. I do not know if carbon fiber vents fits with the rest of the black pack.

You have to add taxes and postage, so in the end they probably costs the same (or even more).

If you look at the honeycomb portion it's damaged.

Black carbon fiber (not the silver weave) might go OK with Black Pack, but it won't really "match". I replaced my silver hood vents with carbon (from Rimmer) because one was delaminating and the closeout carbon was cheaper. That led to side vents too. I've got them in storage somewhere. @ptie PM me if you're interested.
