Default Resonator/Cat Delete

Hi y'all. Has anyone here either done a resonator or cat delete, or both? I wanna know if there's any power and/or torque loss? Any CEL? Etc. Etc. Thanx. I'm installing the Eventuri intake on my '16 R 'vert either Wednesday or Thursday. After that, I'm considering resonator and/or cat delete....

I haven't done either.

I can pretty much guarantee that any modern engine management system will light CEL if you remove CAT.

If you want less restrictive exhaust for performance and noise reasons a "race cat" can often give this without CEL.

A previous car I owned with 2.5L turbo engine produced 305bhp

I upgraded by replacing standard 400 cell per inch CAT with 100cpi CAT, much less restrictive and no CEL.

Another vehicle had two cats per bank, deleted 2nd CAT without CEL issues.

Tends to depend on where Lambda probes are situated and what influence on exhaust oxygen levels deleting a CAT has.

My apologies. I meant to say MUFFLER delete, instead of cat delete. Didn't realize my mistake till right now.

Your better off putting 200 cell cats on it, 20-25 bhp but you will need a map to stop the cel light coming on though.

A 20-25 HP gain from VAP's 200-cell catted downpipes seems a little generous. Does anyone have a dyno to confirm?

I'm expecting only 5-10 HP after I have them installed on my SVR which currently has the VAP tune.

Yep had my car dynoed at every stage of my tune at the same dyno, albeit it reads low but thats not a problem.
Std was 525, pulley and map was 580 and then cats and new tune is 600 so add 20ish bhp for the low reading and we're pretty much on the button for what VAP say you should get.

Yeah as Unhingd stated, the muffler delete will be too loud on the R and the wrong kind of loud (no tone). You're better off with the VAP 200 cell downpipes or the VAP catback system.

Here's a set of VAP downpipes for sale:

Or you can join the VAP exhaust group buy:
