They take it to bits on arrival, inspect and clean each part, then put it on a shelf in a warehouse. Not a junkyard.

The climate here means leaving it outside is effectively very scrapping it...

Yes, that's what our high-end "junk yards" or auto salvage companies do. I've never heard the term "breakers" applied to used vehicle parts businesses.

Breakers = Britain
Wreckers = Australia
Salvage yard = America

Second hand parts taken from vehicles being scrapped.

Anyone have an idea if any third party manufacturer makes a LSD for the F-Type? Quaife only make an LSD for the XKR, any idea if this will fit?

In other mods, I'm also changing from the stock P-Zeros (have 19 inches) to the Michelin PSS this weekend.

I'm also looking to get a tune for the F-Type from my local tuner (they've worked with a lot of top-end vehicles and have stellar reviews so I have confidence in them) and I'm considering installing a methanol injection kit (tuner really advocates them, planning on installing a top-end kit with plenty of fail-safes to prevent any damage to the engine). Anyone have any feedback on any of these mods?

I also installed the Quicksilver exhaust and added some J-pipes to cancel the drone (I've taken 3 videos: before, without J-pipes and with J-pipes, am planning on uploading the videos tonight).

Sorry for the long (and a bit fragmented post)! Looking forward to any of the feedback and ideas of you guys! Thanks in advance!

Looking forward to those videos of the quicksilver exhaust. I have the base V6 as well and was wondering how much better the quicksilver exhaust would sound.

Haha uploaded it after I saw this.

The exhaust is brilliant at WOT and idle but it was droning too much for me at a RPM of around 2k (doesn't befit a Jaguar). The J-pipes reduced the drone significantly without compromising the sound too much.

@VMaxTuning, would you be able to help with this?

Adding the pulley, headers and a tune will create some serious horsepower for a car which already beggared belief that it doesn't have a LSD!

The "serious horsepower" being talking about in the VMaxTuning threads are on the V8s. All V8s have LSD std as does the V6S.

The only F-Types without LSD are the 340HP base cars, and somewhere a bit north of 400HP and perhaps 400 ft. lbs. of torque seems to be the reasonable limit for the V6s, which are both already putting out more HP/Liter (OEM) than the OEM V8s.

You don't think that 400 ft lbs of torque with an open differential might be a safety hazard? Nonetheless, with extra torque throughout the RPM range?

This entire thread is based on the fact I have a base and I'm looking to add a LSD. I'm not sure you've read it entirely.

Safety hazard, no.

+1. Even with a +20mm crank pulley, I'm guessing the V6 will still max out at those numbers, but we are shooting for having that peak available over a wider rpm range.

Lots of good info posted in this thread already by Foosh, Unhingd, and Cambo.

We haven't gotten to the diffs of the V6 cars yet so I'm really hesitant to say anything at this point other than in a world of open or ediff (those that use the rear brake on the rear wheel without traction to slow it) differential vehicles, you'd be amazed what a set of sticky tires will do for a non mechanical LSD car in and of themselves.

Being in the UAE I'd check into at the very least the latest gen of R compound tires if not a DOT legal drag radial.

+1. A car with an open diff is actually easier to control: traction is lost on only one rear wheel if too much throttle is applied.

Safety hazard or not, open diffs suck, LSD's are awesome.

When I put the Quaife in my XJR it quite literally transformed the car for me.

The Jag was the first powerful RWD car I had with no LSD, it was certainly not as much fun without it.

I concur. The only car ('02 MINI) I have purchased over the past 4 decades with no LSD, I retrofitted within just a few months.

Good luck
Sorry to resurrect an ancient thread, but as used parts are becoming cheaper it seems like this modification is becoming more doable. I was searching through online salvage yards and found a few differentials with the 3.31 final drive ratio but had part number EX53-4A213-AA and not ending in "MA" like quoted for an automatic car. Are we sure the automatic LSD version ends in "MA" and not "AA"? Also, I notice on some of the labels there is "YELLOW" added to it, does anyone know what this means?

I have attached a picture of the label of one of the particular differentials I am looking at adding for my 2014 V6 Base. This came off of a 2015 V6S Convertible Automatic AWD. Any info would be great!

I hesitate to contradict Cambo, but this is what I have researched:
AA is T2R4000, the automatic version for the S (3.31 ratio). MA is T2R18657, the MT version for the base (3.15 ratio).
