This falls into the category of personal preference. There is no right or wrong with any configuration you wish for your car. Can we stop debating these things? While fun at times it eventually ends up in a somewhat pissing match. Have what you enjoy. Enjoy what you have.

Yeah. It's sort of a bore, to some extent. They basically become different cars for different mentalities, and under the hood they are strikingly different.... but what fun could it be with F-Type ( X152 ) 6 cyl and F-Type ( X152 ) 8 cyl sub forums. SVR and Proj 7 would be sleepy and quiet. =)

There's no debate here... R's too much for me, but other people have rip roaring joy in it. HOWEVER I JUST SAW THIS Jalopnik (kinja?) post about a guy selling his Viper. It reminds me of an R owner who had a thread about his car being a torque bomb deathtrap.

Most Honest Viper Craigslist Ad Ever

That is so funny. So honest. "You do not have this". lol

I watched about 45 seconds and got annoyed enough to turn it off. It was probably the "we have a dragstrip so get to see these cars perform on the track" bit. Wrong. A dragstrip is a track, but hardly the only track. I'm sure those c/c brakes will shine in that single stop.

If he hits a road course later, I'll probably never see it. Did I mention that he annoys me?

There's no substitute for lightness either and while the V8 is the most porcine, the V6 can't cast stones there either.

Do you really want to give a car like that to a kid (not from a racing family) where they actually have to use the steering wheel? I think not.

He's just a sissy, reading the Jag materials verbatim, giving no personal insight into the soul or behavior of the car whatsoever.

I've never driven in a straight line in my life.
(read into that what you will, lol)

The fact that I just tore through my rear Pirelli in 10K, I assume I am the curvy line guy. I don't want to drive straight.

I notice it's all the gear grinders that relish the curves.

I have an auto and I love me some curves as well. I understand it takes great skill to cut good 60' times and ETs but I prefer to turn left and right.

We're obviously trying to rationalize our egregious decision to forego the V8.

You have exceptional taste BruceTheQuail, and not just because you have an F-Type. I was tempted to suggest, along with that photo, that that was my best post since I've been a F-Type Forum member but didn't. And since you are a man of discerning taste, here's another "taste" from the same shoot:
