Default Rho Plate

Here in the People's Republik a front plate is mandatory. My car didn't come with a front plate holder, so the front plate is wrapped in a rag on the dash. Clearly not a long term solution. I've read the thread here about this and found the Rho Plate V2. Has anybody actually used one of these? While I know that some think that tow hook plate holders are ugly, I'm not am as worried about beauty as I am about the constabulary. Rho claims that it doesn't interfere with the parking sensor. Just want to make sure before I shell out $.

Question I'm sorry I don't get it

What is this? Is it a now you see it, now you don't, James Bond Type license plate frame/bracket ? I did read the link but I'm not clear on what this product supposedly does.
Bottom line, especially if vehicle is in motion, if police take notice of no front plate, more than likely police will stop you to issue you a summons ticket for lack of front plate . so how does this product help against this type of situation. Anyone ...

It does not hide the plate unless you physically remove it, which is very simple. It attaches with no modifications to the car and looks very clean when installed. It should have been the factory front mounting option from Jaguar!

The pictures in the thread linked above make it very obvious how it works. Perhaps you should go back and look again. In fact, the answers to virtually all of your questions can be found with a fairly simple search.

+1 on it being the very best front plate mounting solution I've ever seen.

Basically, its a two part solution. One part of the fixture attaches to car, other part attaches to the plate. There is a quick disconnet between the two parts so you can remove the plate easily when you want. The fixture that attaches to the car is essentially invisible when the plate part is removed, plus it attaches to EXISTING bolts, so no unsightly holes need to be made in the car.

I got a Rho plate shortly before the STO N SHO showed up. Rho plate is good quality, and easy to put on and remove (though not as easy as STO N SHO.) I got it mainly to make it easy to put the plate on for the annual inspection, and then easy to remove it 5 minutes later.

I don't have parking sensors, so I can't comment on that. But there is a bit of flexibility in how the plate is positioned on the stud. I think it's a good product.

I don't have the RHO tow hook holder (mine is from Mini2Go) but the parking sensor is in the black bar right behind it. How could it no affect the sensor? It triggers only when it put it in reverse. Push on the dash turns the sensor off.

I must say, the car matches the driver/owner. Nice !

The Rho plate can be shifted a bit up/down and right/left, plus adjusted so it isn't angled.

That might be, however the sensor is triggered by things 5 feet away. The tow hook hole is just inches from the sensor, maybe 5 inches or so, it will "most" likely interfere ...

+1 -I have one (with a black split ring). Hard to beat. My front plate was a bit bent in this picture - since fixed.

Agree 100%! I wonder if JLR would be interested in marketing "Big Mike's Performance Parts STO N SHO" as an option instead of drilling into the bumper?

JLR doesn't ship cars with the front plate holder mounted, and it is stored in the trunk. The vast majority of dealers leave them off prior to sale, and only mount the JLR-supplied front plate holder if thats what the customer wants. However, on rare occasion some dealers have mounted them prior to sale.

When I showed the Sto-N-Sho to my dealer GM, he said he planned to keep some in stock as the recommended option for his customers.

I always leave the front plate on except to clean the the bits and pieces around it. Mighty convenient, and a front plate looks so much better down low rather than obstructing any part of the grille.
