I wonder if the coupe owners who don't like the bulge on top could convert to this type of antenna. It might be easier and cheaper than those replacements talked about above.

Not sure how well the car's antenna works on the convertible because I always use my cell phone with CarPlay for navigation etc.
My connectivity relies on my T-Mobile cell signal.
I would guess that there must be a loss of signal with the built-in receiver because aluminum is quite effective at attenuation.

Plastic or ABS. Same material as the front and rear bumpers.
Same debate a while ago about the spoiler/lid on the coupe, I always thought it was alu but quite a few said it was ABS.
And that's after I had completely removed the lid and held/played with it a few years ago!
I'm still not sure what the coupe spoiler/lid is made of but if it really is ABS then it would make sense that the 'vert lid is also.
