I would go to amex true car and get a quote for the build you want. Figure out the % off MSRP and have the dealer match the % off for a car you order or one on the lot. Most dealers would do this as it is an easy sale and they still make some cash.

+1. That's how I got a 5% discount on an MY16 before they were in production (in addition to the $2500 JCNA incentive).

Question Kong ....

Question please....
What is Amex ???
Never heard of it. I could be wrong but true car seems like a gimmik. Not so reliable. Yes... No ? I'm thinking of asking for 8% off for a 2017 model car. Is this fair for both sides in your opinion?
Thank you kindly.
PS ... The car I built has MSRP of $ 110,000

+1 on True Car. That's what got me 6.5% off my MY2016 FT-S Coupe early in the season. I told the dealer I eventually ordered from that I had an offer on an equivalent order from further away (true) and they were willing to match it. It saved me a much longer trip to go buy the car.

Now I just have to wait on the car (somewhere in the mid-Atlantic right now)

American Express offers the truecar offering as a free service to its members. AAA does as well. It's essentially an online buying service where participating dealerships bid on your business. Depending on your location, you could get as many as 3 or 4 offers. I took the best offer and ran it over to a non-participating dealer (where I wanted to do business) that matched the offer.

According to True Car 10% off would be below invoice on a '16! Jag doesn't have the lowest interest rate on their captured, but most dealers have other sources. On cars .com there are some '15 but my local hasn't had one in months. He only has 2 XF! I would definitely work to get Club $2500! The only way you get below invoice is when manufacturer is paying!

Question Question please ....

Can I join the Jag club if I do not currently own or lease a Jag. The membership form asks, what kind of Jag car do you have. You might know the answer. Thank you.

To answer the original Q: I wanted a convertible R. That left me w/ little choice re: model year. MSRP is 110k - 112k. That's a big pill to swallow. So I looked for used ones. Found 2 w/ 1,700 miles, both 1-owner and Certified. Ask was 98, I told them my wife only authorized budget of 90. They came back w/ 95. I waited a few days and said wife said OK to 91. Told them I was looking at Fcar 360 Modena too. They came back w/ 91,238. I said deal! I knew that buying a convertible is optimal in the winter time. Verts don't sell well in winter. I feel like I got a good deal.
