Default Scratched rim after new tire install

Hi all,

My f type had a flat over the weekend, and, seeing as the other tires were getting close, decided to get all four corners done to be safe. The work was performed at a Jaguar Land Rover dealer. Picked the car up today and drove the 5 minutes home before I noticed that the front rim now has a nasty gash (see below)

Not an expert on these sorts of things, but looks like the handiwork of one of those tire mounting machines. Obviously I'm kicking myself for not taking a close look at the work before leaving the dealer. I left my service rep a voice-mail, waiting to hear back.

What do we think boys, any recourse or am I screwed here? Pretty furious that I paid dealer premiums for this quality of work.

Hopefully you have a respectable service manager at your dealer. That is so obviously not curb rash, I can't imagine how they could deny it.

Sadly, an indication that it's best to get tyres done at a specialist tyre fitter who does this stuff (fit tyres, not damage rims) all the time rather than a main dealer. I feel your pain.

Hard to tell from the photo, but it just looks like the paint has been chipped off. Doesn't appear to have any damage to the wheel itself. With that, a wheel repair shop should be able to patch that up. Since you left the dealership and drove it, it would be hard to prove that it didn't happen away from the dealership. I would do what you started which is contact the service rep but I wouldn't be surprised if they won't repair it.

I think I saw in another post that you are in Missouri somewhere. If so, see if https://zohr.com/ has service in your area. It's more expensive, but they know what they are doing and come to your house (they handle cars way more expensive than F-Type's).
