Hi folks, I'm blessed with the secondary battery for the Eco Start/Stop feature on my 2015 R. The battery has been dead for a while and I'm finally going to remove it.
Before I do that, can I remove some of the other crap near the battery too? I see a lot of things connected to the secondary battery. Or should I just play it safe and remove only the battery?
I removed just the battery, the two part mounting bracket, and the negative/earth/ground lead.
Zero problems since and like you I was afraid to touch let alone remove anything else in that area.
I removed the second battery and everything associated with it, including the hold-down assembly, battery cables, etc. Mostly just to clean up the area and not be lugging about disconnected stuff.
When you say "associated with it" did you also remove the two grey connectors that seem to be getting power from the spare battery and that whole section too?
