The argument/ideology behind buying car like F-type is that you want everything just the way you want to. This is viewed as the car telling driver you can't have it your way.

The problem is people have too many conflicting idiosyncrasies . . .

"You can't always get what you want . . ."

I am a new owner of 2019 f type R, and I am assuming from what i can tell my model year uses engine vacuum, the previous owner had disconnected vacuum line to the exhaust valve and plugged them up, no wonder i could not tell the difference when i pressed the exhaust switch, now I plugged the vaccum line back in the vacuum actuators and now i can see the valve open and close. now when i start the car cold its not loud at all as the exhaust valves close 2 to 3 sec after startup and during the cold start cycle if i press the exhaust switch the valves do not open , they only open after the cold start cycle is complete, is this normal? its a bummer i dont get the loud barking noise during start up but i also want to able to control the exhaust sound. thanks

Could you do it by pressing the starter button without foot on brake, then selecting dynamic mode and firing up?

yep tried it , seems like during the cold start cycle flaps are close not matter what setting , as soon as the cycle is complete if its in dynamic mode or the exhaust switch was set to open, they open once the cold start cycle is complete ...
