Default Shenanigans Begin!

Photos of a "project" I'll be starting on!

For those that haven't seen what the V6 (AJ126) engine block look like, you can clearly see where the other two cylinders would have been on the V8(AJ133) on either side.

That being said...I currently have a V6; but look what came home with me in the trunk today! Theres a reason why our cars weigh so much; I struggled to load and unload the block:

More bits and pieces! Pistons,con-rods and camshafts were in the front seat!

Oh wait! Is that an OEM V8 exhaust and valance?!?!

TO BE CONTINUED...

Surely you can't be intending to convert your V6 base into a V8, a million other very expensive things other than the engine itself would need to be modified or changed, it would be waaaaaay cheaper to chop your V6 in for a used V8S or R.
So I can only guess you are looking to rebuild a blown up or wrecked V8?

Impressive. Too bad we already have one member called Unhingd. (Who, upon seeing your photos, surely will be smiling ear-to-ear). I guess you could always spell it differently, if not grammatically correct. Of course there's a reason Top Gear/Jeremy Clarkson started his piece with: It's an x-rated hardcore monster for the terminally unhinged.

I'm impressed that you even got it into the car. I mean trunk.

I'm sure I speak for the entire F-Type Forum: GOOD LUCK!

In parting I leave you with one other line from Top Gear; "how hard can it be?".

OK...I vote for "garage web cam" so we can watch the creation of Frankentype. Maybe one day you'll be able to say "It's Alive"!!!

I swore he already had a V8 exhaust.

Sad to see these are completely open deck motors. Really big numbers would take some serious block work.

V6 in the front, V8 in the rear for a grand total of V14.

I hope you realize that block is not a direct swap. It is all but guaranteed that in 2017 buying used V8S is going to be cheaper than your project. Good luck with getting it done, in 15 years when F-type prices are down, many people will attempt to follow your footsteps. Document it well.

Today boosting power of V6 can be cost-effectively done by pulley and tune. You can hit 420ish horses doing just that.

I have rebuilt a couple of 60s and 70s cars, but messing with these new cars terrifies me. I cannot wait to see where this goes. This forum is AWESOME!
