Default Shift Light Question

I was wondering if anyone knows what RPM the selected gear display in the Message Center changes to a white background? 340 hp, if it makes any difference...

I have no clue what you're talking about. You have an AT?

Someone please help this man out.

Bump.

From the owner's manual:

"When the transmission is set to permanent manual mode, (i.e., using the paddles to change gear while in the S position and Dynamic mode is selected, see 105, DYNAMIC) transmission upshifts are fully controlled by the driver. This means that the transmission will not change up a gear automatically, even when the vehicle's rev limit is reached. The gear position indicator in the Message center will glow amber, to indicate that the next gear should be selected."

In the Message Center, there is a display telling you what gear you're in (AT). There is a black background. When you reach a certain RPM, there is a white circle around the gear number (indicating that it's about time to shift). When you get to redline, the circle becomes amber.

What I couldn't find anywhere was what RPMs does it take to turn the circle white? 6k? 6,500? If no one knows, I'll play with the car and find out, but when it's over 6,000, I'm often kinda busy and would prefer to look at the road ;-))

Fairly easy to tell which gear based on where the knob is.

I have seen the circle background turn to white while nearing the redline and figured it meant something like "hey dude probably should think about flicking that paddle soon" but I only noticed it peripherally as I usually focus on the road in those situations.

It seems to be set to turn white at 6,000 RPM, if anyone cares...

I actually looked closely at it yesterday and the little line around the circle turns red when the circle is white ;-). I could not find any situation where the circle is ever amber.

I think that it turns amber at the redline or just right before it - you probably didn't see it if you shifted at 6,700... ;-)
