Default Shipping my NEW SVR!

Hi Everyone!

I put a deposit on a 2017 Convertible SVR and should be taking delivery in early November! I live in Los Angeles and the SVR is on the East Coast.

Does anyone have experience with shipping a vehicle or have shipping companies they would recommend?

I was thinking of doing closed transport, but is it worth the extra $$?

Thanks in advance!

How much extra? Maybe you put the difference into getting a full clear protective film (xpel or similar) on the car before it is shipped to you?

I actually spoke to JP Logistics and the difference was about $500...$1,900 enclosed, $1,400 regular.

Theres a guy that does great work for the protective film, his name is BEMARO you can check him out on youtube.

Im not sure if i will do a full body protection or just the front, pretty expensive!

THANKS!!

Glacier White Convertible SVR!

Its on a purchase, I wanted to lease but they don't want to apply the discount for a lease.

I read that "BLACKSVR" purchased his SVR for $87.5k OTD, crazy deal, I'm about $10k away from that but will still try and negotiate.

Yep. There was a white SVR coupe listed in Sarasota for $90K & it seems the ragtops bring more at least at initial purchase. If it were me, I'd pay the extra for the enclosed transport as you just never know when a hail storm is going to show up around this time of year. Better $500 of "safety" vs. a insurance hassle claim. It's a $100K car so an extra $500 is like drops on a pond

I have been looking around and convertibles are definitely going for more. My V8S was a convertible and it just the best of both worlds so have to go with another one.

Your definitely right, I will pay the extra $500 for piece of mind!

Thanks for the input!

Definitely do enclosed. I went the cheap route and the hassle of hand polishing out the water spots wasn't worth it.

Sweet congrats! Yep did get that deal, mine is a standard panoramic hardtop though. Awesome car, more compliments in the F-type than anything else I have owned. You will definitely enjoy it. Again, congrats!

The only time I ever shipped a car was from Lingenfelter. If I had picked it up, I would have had to pay Indiana sales tax on the package so shipping was a better choice. Otherwise I agree with dave, go get it and have some fun.

Thanks Dave, I was considering it but don't really have the time right now, it would take me about 2days of all day driving.

+1. From where we are here on the east coast, OK is in the Southwest (maybe the lower Midwest). Dead nuts halfway between the two coasts.
