Fidanza has the OEM shifter and linkage rail in their engineering department for reverse engineering the shifter. Based on the OEM example, they don't expect any issues. They will contact me early next week with an estimated availability date. They have confirmed they will offer a group buy, but we'll have to wait for those details.

tl;dr
....I am in for the X-Pipe. Will wait on the short shift... and I apologize for being conservative on that and waiting. Clutch will be when it's time for one..... then the tune starts.
Maybe I revisit exactly what my warranty is and how valuable it is, and how long before I would actually need it.
Man. I hope you don't disown me. I always have this "I am not a pioneer because pioneers were shot in the back with arrows" thing. Apparently I am conservative as s**t... it's my first car in 20yrs and one of my larger purchases, so I am down with my warranty.
This is for you boring guys with dreams of mods and poking questions:
I am close enough to a service guy at my dealership that I am happy to be transparent with him about *me* (no one else), and asked about 4 things in relation to warranty. He tunes, short shifts, alters everything.
NB: We both laughed that *HE* always goes short shift, and also does other things that immediately and definitely violates the warranty because WHO CARES, and otherwise YOU ARE NOT HAVING AS MUCH FUN AS YOU MIGHT BE HAVING. Mad respect. =)
Also... I am not saying anything any of you don't already know, but confirmations...
a) of course tuning violates warranty, esp. pully stuff, etc. (I know.. who cares)
b) A new street clutch is probably going to violate it because of it's impact on the drive train. But of course, most of this would be about driving like an idiot vs tried and true aftermarket parts.
c) x-pipe:
not an issue.... anything downwind of the cat isn't going to effect anything. Anything before it might effect engine, fuel stuff, etc.
d) short shift
honestly probably never going to impact warranty. However, he mentioned that sometimes it can change the angle and alter how the cable sits and something could break.... but it's a safe mod *if you have a whole bunch of people who have already done it*.... so that's where the boring comes in.

And yes, I have lots of arrow holes to show for my 50 years of tweaking cars (less so now that I am relying heavily on professionals to guide the way) . It's an expensive hobby, but still cheaper than golf.

I need some help from my fellow gear grinders. Fidanza Performance has had an F-Type OEM shift rail and shifter in their shop for several weeks now and have taken the necessary measurements to fabricate a short shifter. They seem to be dragging their feet, as they appear to be focused on other projects.
If you have any interest in considering a short shifter, please give them a call at (440) 259-5656 to ask about availability and pricing. This may convince them that there is actually demand for the shifter beyond just me.
Thanks,
Lance

I pressed when he hemmed and hawwed about having it but it won't be ready, and I said, "what's that mean? A year? 2 quarters? Months? Weeks?"
And he said a"hh.. yeah. Months. Not longer."
But it did sound like he would need pressed or that pipeline gets looonger.

Since mine is the proto-type unit, maybe I'll get mine sooner (but no longer counting on it). It might take them a bit longer to get the units into regular production.

This project has finally made some forward progress, but continues to move at a glacial pace. Fidanza finally has the pieces machined and expects to assemble a shifter in the next couple of weeks. Hopefully, I'll have the prototype in the car for a test fit before Thanksgiving.
