Should I straight pipe my ftype?
Should i remove the resonator and the muffler from my ftype to straight pipe it? Anyone know any places in Dallas that do a good job? My friend is charging me $150 and another shop is charging me $350.
Will this affect my engine? any cons to this? Anyone else done this?

I have driven with the muffler off the car for a few days, stock cat still in place, it’s extremely loud and unpleasant, a ton of resonance and drone, i did LOVE the start up though, i put them back before the neighbors knocked on the door.
Supposedly you can fabricate some j pipe to kill the drone, but afaik, no diy guides has been posted online.
If you’re still inclined, an exhaust cut out kit can be installed somewhere and it’s basically a straight pipe you can control.

The F-Type V8 exhaust system already comes with an X-pipe (and no central resonator) and while the V6 has a resonator replacing it with an X-pipe won't achieve anything but to produce drone.

Sorry George, that will work on an XF, XK or XJ V8 but not on an F-Type V8 (or V6).

No. It will be unbearably loud. You'll also never pass inspection and you'll likely get pulled over and given a very expensive ticket. The only possible alternative is to install an electrically operated exhaust cutout so you can occasionally open the exhaust, but that will cost more than the couple of hundred you looking to spend. Even then, there won't be any performance gain, just a really loud exhaust.

I'd be worried about drone more than anything. Mine (the VAP quad touring) gets drone at about 110kph which is essentially highway speed, it is very annoying (nothing wrong with the product, it is designed for an 8 and mine is the 6). If you are doing a lot of extended highway driving, I woudnt do it (or be ready to pull it back a gear or two to keep the revs up which improves the drone). On the other hand, for normal driving, especially enthusiastic driving, it is fantastic.
