Default Should there be a jack?

I have no spare wheel, and also no jack. (AWD S 2016)
Should there be one anyway? Need to shift to winter wheels soon or later so a jack would be handy...

Missing or shouldn't be there?
(Manual doesn't say)

Spare wheel (convertible anyway, don't know about the coupe) is an optional extra and comes with an insert which holds the jack and tools. I have one but quickly abandoned it when I realized there was essentially zero boot space with it in.

2016 F-Type R AWD. No spare, no jack. I do have a bottle of goo and a compressor.

The only purpose of these is to provide you with a false sense of security. I took mine out.

My road trip roadster (classic Mercedes) has a full-sized spare and a fair bit of clearance. That automotive era is long since gone.

False sense of security? I found my left rear tire nearly flat after sitting in my work lot for 9 hours. There was a slow leak from a large screw embedded in the tire causing a 2-3 psi drop every hour or so. That compressor was the reason I was able to re-inflate my tire and drive to a tire shop instead of sitting in the parking lot waiting for a tow.

I had the same experience with my Touareg a couple of years back. The compressor saved my day.

Same in my Camaro. Got me to a shop instead of being on the side of the road.

Jack and toolset only comes with the spare wheel if you order the spare wheel as a factory installed option (and this removes the compressor and goo kit). The spare wheel is also available as a port installed/dealer installed option but if you go that route, it only includes the wheel, not the jack or toolset which are sold separately.

I know this because I made the mistake of ordering it as a port installed option instead of a factory option.

You can always buy a jack and haul it around if you want one. Nothing is free, so I'm happy not to have paid for one.

Your better off buying a jack for your home garage use if you want to change tires. It's cheaper than the OEM jack and easier to use.

Absolutely. The jack that comes with the car, any car, is suitable for emergencies only. Get a semi-decent floor jack. If you change wheels often, get a properly decent one. You'll thank yourself every single time you use it.

.
Interesting, I have everything, spare, toolset, compressor and goo, but I bought mine as a 12 month old ex Jaguar company car so maybe they optioned it up for themselves.

Now only if we could locate those jack points?!?!

I know there is an old thread out there and Lance sorta showed me a few weeks back at SCOSS, but I'll still be nervous this winter when changing out my wheels for the first time. The manual is vague with regard to the specific points. Need better visual designation points under the car.

Under the trunk floor. There's a small loop you pull to remove the floor cover and expose the battery, you'll find both in that area.

In the 2016, the goo is in the battery compartment next to the battery under the trunk floor panel, but the compressor is elastic strapped to the left side of the trunk wall in a niche up by the bulkhead.
