I LOVE IT!!
Your car looks awesome. What lowering springs did you use? I went with the 21" rim, simply because I don't want to hack up my wheel-well...
So I noticed some dried antifreeze residue near the back of my engine block, i also smelled minute remnants of antifreeze on warmer days. so i started researching threads to see what could possibly be the issue and i found this thread. https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f...ailure-193012/
well after looking through more threads i saw that many other lines could soon fail due to the "plastic" coolant lines used by jaguar. so i kinda knew what to expect when i took my car to the dealer. after the dealer pressure tested the system they found 2 leaks, 1 in the heater manifold and 1 in the rear engine coolant line, but the technician did as i hoped and recommended that i upgrade the entire cooling system..... fast forward>>>>>>> just for the parts and labor on the cooling it was about $3800, but after i got the wheel alignment, oil change, and fuel injector servicing it ended up a higher. SO IF YOU HAVE ANY COOLANT LEAKS I RECOMMEND ALL THESE PARTS BE CHANGED OUT!
So i decided to experiment with my factory hood vents and take them apart so i could properly WRAP them gloss black. I am by no means a pro wrapper but i can hold my own. i did this wrap about 2 months ago but i just posted the video.
here it is.
Very nice job. I've been using plastidip as well which is a lot easier for the more 3 dimensional parts, but it doesnt give the nice gloss black finish even if you use the glossifier. But it is better if you are leaving your car in the sun.
here is the info on the install of my paddle shifters. the link to the shifters is in the youtube descrition. these are solid aluminum shifters and feel like some real quality.
This video shows how to remove steering wheel buttons, modules, trim, and components associated with the steering wheel assembly.
I started having issues with buttons shorting in my steering wheel as well as the airbag light was staying on. I had been planning on bringing it to the dealership but after i got the "manual shift disabled" indication I decided to take it upon myself to remove the steering wheel my self. here's the video showing how to. But please excuse me for not having the one clip showing the 5 screw removal process of the dashboard.
Thanks for posting the videos! Will you be removing/wrapping side vents and front grill surround?
i think i may keep the chrome side vents. but i plan on getting the grill upgrade. i dont want chrome anywhere else on the car but on the vents, and tail pipes.
I decided to upgrade my interior ambient lighting using the same "factory" ambient source. it came out very well. if youre interested in doing so i detail the entire project here in this video
So i drove around in the car for 3 weeks now without any issues. Now i'm starting the procs of putting on my stage 3 tune from velocity AP.
I separate it out in 3 videos because i realized i ordered the wrong crank pulley and had to send it back and get another. (the jaguar tech told me my pulley was black and it was silver)
@Life And Projects By Austin YOUTUBE I spoke with Chris at VAP yesterday about the upper pulley install as well. One thing he mentioned and maybe helpful for others that find this thread in the future and are planning to do the same thing, is that when heating the upper pulley, it is better to use a 1000w hot plate. Let the pulley hub sit on there on HI for roughly 30-45 minutes until it turns from a silver to a more golden/bronze color and it is ready to go at that point. Even heat application is better to avoid either it not going on easily or damaging the pulley.
Also to note, that once the hub is cooled, it is on there, so like you said in the video, get it right the first time, there is no going back or second chances.
Anyway, keep up the video updates, even if some might criticize you, there are probably way more people now and into the future that will find this information helpful in some way, shape or form!
