Default skirts are a stone chip magnet

Hi guys

Anyone else finding the skirts just behind front wheels are a magnet for stone chips - not the floor/running boards, the panel flush against the body

I wrapped my skirts in clear bra literally the day after i picked it up, and in hindsight i'm lucky i did, i've since had to have both side skirts on each side re-wrapped because of stones kicking up hard enough to puncture and tear the clear bra - doing it's job in saving the paint, but a hassle to keep replacing

I'm not sure if it's the xpel clear bra being softer than what i've had in the past (premium shield and 3m), or just the shape of the skirt itself relative to how the front wheel sticks out beyond the panel right at lower edge

Absolutely, I washed the car yesterday and noticed this entire area, some of the door, rear quarter panels and behind the rear wheels are pockmarked terribly.

I've found the panel in front of the rear tires have the most road rash. Surprisingly the panel behind the front tires isn't too bad.

I would say that's a fairly common place - it happens on my 370z there as well

Same for me. My Xpel has taken a beating, especially in the spot mentioned by the OP. I received my first rock damage on the front splitter on the way home from signing the paperwork at the dealer. Xpel was applied the next week.
