snap, crackle, brup...

F type base trying to get that burp sound
I put the car in dynamic and seems only when I put it in sports mode and manual can I get the burps and pops and only when Rev really high and let of the gas does it seem to really capture the noise and that's in first gear
And I'm concerned that I might mess up the engine doing this
And I'm a novice when it comes to driving manuals so pardon if the terminology isn't right. But I basically have the car in 1st and hit about 4-5k rpm and then let my foot off the gas and then I get the beautiful sound I desire.
Is there an alternative way or is this spot on the way to do it?

You hear them all the time when decelerating in the automatic, but many most manual owners have reported it's harder to produce those sounds.

I have f type base automatic
I put it in manual mode via the gear box, as that seems to give me the burps once I hit 4-5k and release the gas. However I'm concerned that I might messing up the engine doing that

when I first got the car, hardly ever heard it. But then, I wasn't often driving over 4000 rpm. Now past break-in and having full rpm range available, it's quite easy to get snap, crackle & pop. Particularly forceful during a double-clutch downshift & deccel. I love this car!

Is there a technique to controlling the level of the crack noises?
I notice that occasionally when I'm on my own in the countryside and I'm having a bit of fun with the gear changes in my F Type R I can get quick bursts of cracks that are so loud they make me duck for cover from the incoming artilery strike. They are 2-3 times the volume of the normal ones, and usually occur in groups over a few seconds. I've not yet been able to work out the exact combination of revs and gas that make them, but it would be good to find out so I can do it when wanted but also make sure I don't do it when I want to keep the excessively antisocial noise down a little, like when overtaking cyclists or pedestrians.

For me (2015 Base Coupe, no dynamic exhaust), Set dynamic and sport. Rev to at least 3k (higher RPMs makes louder noises), then let off. The harder the acceleration the louder the noises when you let off as well. If you want to make less noise, upshift first under lighter throttle, then let off.
One of my favorite noises is the early-shift "brrrap" sound. Push the pedal in a bit and shift well lower than the automatic normally would at that level of throttle. You get a nice loud chain of sounds at once... Do not do this in a residential

First of all don't try this method if you are still in the break in method.
- Best noise will come in Sport Mode, manual shifting in 2nd and 3rd gear, Active Exhaust on( assuming you have the R )
- maintain the RPM and 3,000 to 3,500 RPM and then release the gas pedal for a few secs and then resume the 3000 RPM
- treat the transmission like it was a manual tranny and release gas pedal prior to changing gears. That's when the sound is most aggressive. Also, when the exhaust is cold will be louder.
- you can get pops even longer if you get it to 3,500 RPM in second gear, release the gas pedal and then very lightly tap the acceleration while the rpm is decreasing.
- do not abuse this methods as the exhaust will get very hot and it may also throw a O2 sensor CEL
- the exhaust sound will quiet down after 20 min of driving and you will start hearing a drone like sound after the mufflers will get hot. I think Jaguar regulates that electronically to prevent fires.
- my exhaust opened up after 1,500 miles.
Hope this helps. I will post a video soon.

Alternately, shifting while applying heavy throttle produces an impressive blip/blurp/fart.
And in the V6S, I don't get much of the overrun pops until the engine & exhaust have warmed up.
