It's actually not all that horrible for the $175... Except for the fact that USPS/CN Postage has had its way with the surround and it's got a huge crack down the bottom of the surround. The carbon fiber itself is on the thin side and probably contributed to the fracture, but aside from that, I got what I expected from what I spent. While the surround itself is pretty decent, I do have to say they cut corners on the honeycomb mesh that comes with it. Well, more like they took the easy route and just used some generic honeycomb you can buy for $10. Not too sure what I'll do with this thing, sent a message to the seller to see what they say, but I'm not expecting too much. Maybe I'll look into trying to repair it myself...

I always wondered what the quality was like from one of those overseas carbon fiber surrounds from eBay. Like you said, I wouldn’t expect much but being damaged is not acceptable. I doubt it will be worth sending it back or if the seller will do anything/respond. I remember I had to return a pair of side mirrors from my previous MB overseas and the mirrors got stuck in customs. So no mirrors and no money.

either way, you could get the crack repaired and buy the oem mesh?

Seller does have a return policy if I wanted to pay for return shipping (which I don't so I'm more than likely out the 175 I spent) . Not particularly heart broken about this since I went into it expecting little. I am actually considering purchasing the grille portion of the P7 front end, but I have no idea if it will actually fit on this surround. Tolerances on CN made clones have always been questionable. I'll look into it more if or when I get the crack repaired.

If you paid PayPal, or amex then call them and they will issue you a full refund.

I would imagine you have to hold them as they wouldn't seem to be able lay flat on a table?

I bought a Chinese roof spoiler for my old G35 years ago and it was an inch too long. Still in the box lol, shame because besides that it had a nice look. Ever since I've been wary of ebay/china parts.

Ive dealt with numerous china sellers. Email or message them that it arrived broken. They will either offer it to you for half price or refunds your money. They paid $2 for it so when they offer the discount just say its worthless being broken and ask for a revund or replacement if you want one
