The traction control can do nothing if the tires are hydroplaning - there was simply no traction available, probably largely attributable to the tire condition.

So I got the new wheels and tires on the car, and the new undercarriage pieces, took it for the first drive, car is all over the road, not driving straight and lots of weird vibrations. It also telling me stability control is unavailable. My car is an S so it does have all the adaptive suspension etc etc. Any idea on what it can be? what sensors would be in control off the SC

Did you get an inspection at all to better understand what was damaged? Was an alignment done? Not that an alignment would cause sensor issues.

Check alignment, check level sensors and also check front control arms.

Ya it was at the shop, They said Tie rod destroyed, already got a new one at the dealer gonna get it installed Monday. They are also saying the Knuckle, upper and lower control arm and possibly some other stuff so this is gonna start getting a little pricey, tires and wheel and undercarriage stuff was already $2500 Yikes.

Thats not cheap but I'm amazed you got out of that without a salvage title. Congratulations!

From the way the front wheels broke loose, I take it your car is AWD? AWD is usually impossible to control on standing water or ice, something to consider before braving it. Out of curiousity, was the car in snow/rain mode?

It's in his signature - AWD.
But I understand that the signature doesn't show up on some platforms.

Thanks I'm on an airplane. And I'm not trying to be judgemental asking about snow/rain mode, just curious if it might've helped. I've only been using it regularly myself since watching his video. It's a good lesson for all of us that these cars are beasts that are in no way suitable for inclement weather. I really appreciate the OP sharing this.

Don’t see how rain/snow could help with hydroplaning - simply too fast for the conditions. I don’t think stability control can help much with limited traction.
